A great story from one of my favorite authorS

Once again Brenda Novak has given us a wonderful story and this time has quite a mystery with it. It was an interesting journey to listen to. The narration was great and I had no trouble distinguishing who the different characters were. As always the romance was stellar but was only a small part of this story.

This One Didn't Grab Me

I usually enjoy Brenda Novak novels, but this one fell flat for me. I found the characters unappealing and the storyline only mildly interesting.
The reading was mostly ok, but I felt that some of the delivery seemed like it was a bit off, like a first reading and unsure of where inflections should be.

Dateline: Narrated by a cheerleader.

I like Brenda Novak and this could have been really good... but it was like a cheer leader narrating an episode of Dateline with stupid teenagers doing stupid stuff and then being even more stupid about it years later. I made it through, mainly to find out if who I thought was the killer really was. Then it was glossed over so quick it was as if it didn't happen. Whoever came up with the title obviously knew nothing about the story. The library was where a character worked. Had nothing to do with the story. Better titles might have been "Mystery on Mariners Island"..."Three friends and a lie"...""The Light House Mystery"...anything else.

Awesome Book

Wow Brenda you rock. Awesome book story was great sure held my attention. I would highly recommend it to everyone.

A not so great Hallmark Movie

The library wasn’t a particularly important location. A different name may have been better. A fairly predictable story. No big surprises. The story Melanie’s character really of no consequence. The narration was good though!

I really enjoyed it and was completely surprised as to who did it! I thought it was someone else through the whole book

Great book

This is a great book to read. This book is about three friends, one of whom is accused of murder. This was not what I was expecting, but I'm so glad I kept reading. The ending surprise me a lot. If you love a good mystery, this is a great book to read.

I loved it!

I see some of the reviews on here that didn’t like the story. I thought it was captivating. I listened at every chance I got. The ending was a surprise as I thought it was someone else the whole book! Keep it up Brenda!

Very enjoyable

Up’s and down of being honest and true full.
First time listening to this author. Will be listening to more of her books.

Not good

The narrator’s voices are so whiny and grating. The story could have been good but the characters act like they are jr high age kids instead of adults in their 30’s. The story drags. I could go on and on, but it’s a 👎 for me.
