About this listen

A holiday meet-cute romance from New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Kristen Proby and 1001 Dark Nights…

There are two things you need to know about me. 1: I’m never late. And 2: I hate Christmas. Yes, I’m a girl who hates the holidays.

My entire, enormous family is already enjoying their holiday vacation in Iceland, but thanks to my busy job and having to meet them there, I’m late. They could have chosen any holiday to fly across the world, but Christmas won, which sent me scrambling because the end of the year is my busiest time. It’s difficult to carve out moments to see the family at all.

So, now, I’m forty thousand feet in the air, trying to get to Iceland before Christmas morning, all while also attempting to get some work done. If only the hot guy next to me would leave me be.

Dylan says I should put the work away until after my holiday and relax a bit. And while his suggestion of spending some time together on the north Atlantic island seems preposterous, I can’t help but feel intrigued when he promises to show me how to enjoy the Yuletide season properly.

After all, I can’t possibly spend every minute with my family.

But how do I just shrug off my duty to my job and throw caution to the wind for a stranger...no matter how handsome he is? Because that’s something else about me: I never throw caution to the wind—even a beautiful, blustery Icelandic wind.

Then again, Mama always said, “Never say never…

Another great one

Kristen Proby doesn't disappoint! This was such a cute story about Maddie. I love the epilogue about Caleb too!

Do you believe in love at first sight?

A chance meeting on a flight leads to romance. Such a great holiday read. Truly enjoyed Dylan and Maddie’s story. How Dylan cherishes Maddie and brings her out of her shell. The characters have such depth and chemistry. Kristen Proby delivers again. Don’t miss this novella!

Another great read !!

This was a great short story, the female narrator was excellent. Did not care for the male narrator AT ALL! It was very hard to listen to his voice.

Disappointingly brief holiday romance morphs into more

A single in Seattle next generation short story. This one involves Maddie, one of Bree and Caleb’s twin girls. She has grown into a workaholic who is finally taking a brief vacation for the he first time in 8 years by spending Christmas with her family in Iceland. On the plane over she meets Dylan, a travel writer and the spend a lovely week sightseeing when she isn’t with her family, or in bed. The insta romance is sweet and romantic but painfully quick, including having sex in the first 5 minutes. This is an extremely short book with a warp speed book with a warp speed relationship and no real character development. Stories this short are fine as follow up stories or as a prequel in an anthology with other stories but as a stand alone, the reader is cheated of getting to know the character. Also it is not worth a credit or the cost of the book.
To make matters worse, the narrative is flat and both performers are not very good with the voices of the opposite sex. The production would have benefited greatly by having dual narration to solve this problem. If you are a fan of Proby maybe finding a used copy or a library version would be the best option until this is hopefully included in an anthology with other her too brief books—- or maybe the author will do a follow up story of all the 3 engaged female cousins prepping for a wedding or weddings and include a more in-depth story of Maddie and Dylan. The best part of these new generation books is revisiting their parents ( who had hot stories of their own and are not too old). More scenes with them would improve the new stories since the earlier couples have developed characters and provide
a reason to hunt up the earlier stories.

Wonderful novella

I like the 1001 Night books since I can listen to it in a short time. I don't feel like anything was rushed or missing. The whole Montgomery clan has Christmas in Iceland. Maddie is flying later because of her job. She meets Dylan, a travel writer, on the plane. They have an instant attraction to each other. They have a "vacation fling" but both want more but don't say it. Will they meet again? Stephen Borne and Mia Madison were new to me narrators but I really liked their narration.

Short & sweet

I absolutely love reconnecting with the Montgomery clan and 1001 Dark Nights novellas make it super easy to drop in and catch up. I loved Maddie & Dylan and can't wait to get more glimpses of them together in future books within the Single in Seattle series.
