Acerca de esta escucha

The Saint - the hero of 100 thrilling yarns of breathless adventure and mystery. The Robin Hood of modern crime, the 20th century's gayest buccaneer.

Vincent Price, Tom Conway and Denis Green, in a rare never-before-available audition recording, star as the suave Simon Templar - poised in the presence of ladies, cool when confronted with danger. Well-known to both the criminals and the common man, his services are frequently sought, his involvement quickly detected, and his cases promptly solved.

In 20 digitally restored and remastered episodes, The Saint keeps company with corpses, amnesiacs, publishers, gamblers, and a monkey. He endeavors to discover secret formulas, recover stolen jewels, prevent poisonings, and otherwise preserve justice on behalf of blondes, boxers, buried girls, brides, and a baby boy!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes I would. Specially if they like Vincent Price.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked all the great little mysterys on this audio.

What about the narrators’s performance did you like?

Vincent Price was great. I'm so used to him playing a bad guy, it is a change of pace to hear him play a good guy. He does a good job to.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

If I had ten hours to spare. Which I didn't.

Any additional comments?

Great audio, I hope they realise more Saint audios.

The Saint strikes again.

Vincent Price is an extremely good audio performer. I was thrilled at his reading of a fairly pedestrian horror story in a different collection, and started looking for other things he has read. I was fooled by the picture into thinking that these are all Vincent Price as the Saint in these very clean recordings of the weekly half hour radio show (I assume they are from the 40's and 50's originally). These radio plays do not all feature Price in the lead, however. About 2/3 to 3/4 of the way through, the lead changes to Tom Conway. He's quite good too (though I don't think he's quite as good as Price) but at the same time the quality of the writing seems to me to experience a drop in quality. Maybe the writing was never all that good to start with, and the excellence of Price (who plays the role lightheartedly and gets a lot of really great humor out of it) caused me to not notice it, but for whatever reason it bugged me after they made the change to Conway because it wasn't as much fun to listen to anymore. It's still worth buying and I recommend it but I just wanted to be sure that everyone notices that all the radio plays are not featuring Price in the lead role, despite the cover picture.

Not all Vincent Price
