The Rush and the Rest is a powerful book that seems to span a lifetime of not only spiritual experience but in-depth research as well. The book has an unprecedented balance suitable for not only the seeker but also seasoned believers who would like to go deeper into the things of the Lord.

Interlaced in the book are personal stories, quips, and quotes that are perfectly placed for those with shorter attention spans like myself—and the narration is easy on the ears with great tone, inflection, and pace.

Just as the title hints at, this book is truly refreshing on several levels. If you’re looking to grow deeper in the Lord, if you’ve ever had questions about the Holy Spirit and other supernatural realities of the Divine, if you want to be challenged in your faith, you need this book in your library. You’ll learn, you’ll laugh, and you’ll wonder for more of the Lord!

refreshing, practical

loved it. i read the book a year ago. listening to the book in the audio form gave me a deeper understanding of the text and deeper appreciation for the author.

Long Awaited Review

Take my review with a grain of salt as I know the author and was given my copy for free. It's also been a long while since I listened to the book. Even now though, I can remember and apply the complex theological concepts Jamin makes easy to understand in this book.

Not only are there biblical ideas explored on a memorable way, but Jamin gives important perspective into many areas not explored in most traditional church settings. It is refreshing to hear him talk about age old teachings in a new light.

The story is rated down a star because it's not actually a story and there was one small speaking error. I can still strongly recommend this book to any spiritual seeker.

Fantastic Read

TLDR; great book, connects the teachings of the Bible.

I have always found gaps that I could never connect when reading through the Bible alone. I have even read a lot of the books that Jamin references in the Rush and the Rest, however the always we’re talking about a few aspects of each topic, so I never felt as if I was getting a full connecting story, until now. The Rush and the Rest is packed with useful information. Every Christian that feels like they are unable to connect the teachings of the Bible should really pic up this book!
