About this listen

My name is Lucifer, and I was first....

And, yes, I am that Lucifer. Fall from Heaven, Garden of Eden, ruler of Hell, blah blah blah. I am the one you condemned without - what do you call it? - a fair trial. Forget what you think you know: I want to tell my side of the story. The Road to Hell is all about how a pathetic group of short-sighted angels kicked me out of Heaven.

I'm sure you're curious, wondering "Why now?" Well, the Father has a book, and it's been pretty successful, so I figured what the hell? Found a pile of dust to be my ghostwriter and gave it a go. After all, the story is fantastic! It has everything you clods of dirt crave: a love story, a little sex, intrigue. Murder. War. Lots of blood. And a real motive.

You think it's all about you, don't you? I don't want you. I never wanted you. I want him. Everyone else is just in the way....

So, let's get down to business or brass tacks or whatever colloquialism works for you. I have plenty to say and plenty of time: The Road to Hell is only the beginning. If you're interested in learning the real story, go on; if not, well, I'll see you soon.

Great storyline!

The struggle between Good and Evil and the overall definition of what is actually good what exactly is evil and exploring the thoughts of each of the characters was amazing. I absolutely love this book!

Hear the angels battle in heaven!

As with many great epic-fantasy novels, there is battle! The detailed action is riveting and terrifying. The angels of heaven can be monsters and presented in a thrilling horror. Although if any of these characters were asked, they would surely defend their actions as necessary.

This story arouses the irony of everything.

The Road To Hell references some religious teachings that the reader may find familiar. An incredibly written and absolutely entertaining read. The author’s style, and interpretation of these details, brilliant.

This book takes place before creation. It describes the jealousy of heaven’s angels. If it is true that mankind is created in the mirror image of the creator, than a lot is explained. How the human condition in fact can be the very thing that turns the best of us into monsters.

Lucifer was loved. He was the first and deeply in love with the father. It was Lucifer’s jealousy that got the ball rolling. And then, perhaps poor parenting skills on the father’s part. Damn me for even suggesting a thing, right? If this book gets anyone twisted in a bunch, it might be that it reveals Lucifer as wounded. Then explains how an obsessive need for attention and love can turn to a dark desire of destruction. And all of this happens so seamlessly in The Road To Hell.

I loved it! When I first read the title I did have reservations about reading it for a review. It is a beautiful cover and it did strike my interest right away. However, I knew I would not be into a religious read. And, I also knew any mention of the devil in any capacity, would drive some folks out of their mind.

Kay Eluvian is the sole narrator for Christopher C. Starr’s Heaven Falls Series. One voice artfully defines the war in heaven, breathing life into each character, including Lucifer himself!

Kay Eluvian was the sole narrator for Christopher C. Starr’s Heaven Falls series. And she did an incredible voiceover that brought The Road To Hell and Come Hell Or High Water, to life! Listening to these books was listening to theatre indeed. It made me feel as if I had time traveled to when people relied on listening. A time with no tv, no computer, phones or tablets, only the radio. Audibles are meant to do this I suppose, but not all do it like this!

The movie was in my mind as I heard the characters assemble their story. Each character had their own voice and all characters were done by one narrator only, Kay Eluvian! There were accents, feminine tones and masculine tones. The sound of the voice was enthralling, relaxing and easily expressed the range of emotion in each character. The anger was easily heard and when there was empathy too.

I heard the sorrow in Lucifer’s voice that made him seem vulnerable, or even human. I heard the horror of it all. I felt the wrath and desperation. When jealousy splintered the heavens and the angels warred one another, the havoc was heard LOUD and clear.

Each character was defined exceptionally and it was always certain to me which one was speaking.

The production of the Heaven Falls series was professionally done for both books. There were no unwanted or undesirable background sounds or lengthy silences. Everything moved and flowed exactly as the listener would expect without any interruptions. I have the prints, the digital versions and the audiobooks. I have completely read both books on my Kindle and have read the printed books. The audiobooks both are spot on in translating this incredible story authored by Christopher C. Starr. The story has a life of its own. And, as brilliant as the books are to read, the voiceover done by narrator Kay Eluvian is out of this world.

I highly recommend the audible version of the Heaven Falls series by Christopher C. Starr narrated by Kay Eluvian. I would recommend these books The Road To Hell and Come Hell Or High Water to those that enjoy fantasy, historical, thrilling, horror and religious reads. Both books are mature reading.

Wow...just wow!!!

This book is incredible...liek the Bible infused with the Avengers...exactly what I was looking for. The battles were so graphic and the performance by Kay Eluvian was extremely exceptional! His portray of Lucifer was second to none. Carr really captured what could have possibly been. What a great approach to tell this story. Just finished both stories and now listening to it again!

Better than the Bible!

What a refreshing and interesting story That tells the tale older than time it self. Learn about the creation (and fall) of the first creation, Lucifer. Lucifer comes off as a sympathetic character and also a very human one. And even more interesting perhaps is God himself. The author writes The Almighty in a way that you yourself question whether he made the right decisions throughout the story. God can come off just as arrogant, prideful, and well... human. In this story it is not about good versus evil it is about whether or not the punishment fits the crime. I highly recommend it this audiobook I think there's two versions out my friend and listen to both of them. They're both pretty good so whichever you're lucky enough to listen to You're in good hands.

quality from the unknown

I've never heard of Christopher C Carr. But now I'll be looking for more of his work. He continues a story like that of John Milton and Stephen Brust. it's a subject not many will touch, but, he does a masterful job here. it's not based on aligning with any mythology, it simply uses mythological characters for its own story. just listen and you won't regret it.

Don't waste your time

This is the most boring book I have ever listened to. Nothing good to say about it.
