About this listen

A heart-pounding novel of thrills and danger from the number-one international best seller Glenn Cooper - the most controversial novel ever written about the Holy Grail....

Arthur Malory, a seemingly ordinary Englishman, has a burning interest in the grail, a passion inherited from his father. Thrust into a life-or-death quest to find the precious artifact, he will discover not only his own amazing heritage but the power that the grail possesses - a power that informs the resurrection of Christ and explosively merges spiritual and scientific thought.

Cooper and Lee come together well again!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Certainly for the performance of John Lee alone! This is a wonderful performance by a master at the top of his game, reading an interesting and well researched book by Cooper. I think anyone that would enjoy a biblical/history/thriller book would be well served by this one.

Who was your favorite character and why?

All the biblical characters were very well defined and voiced. Hard to pull them all apart.

What about John Lee’s performance did you like?

Everything. He owned this story! One of the very best performers in the business, at the top of his game with accents, nuance and consistency . Well done!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I sure tried!

Any additional comments?

This one snuck up on me, and it will you as well. It is well researched, with a fascinating contention, and rich in detail and plot. Some good bad guys, and some plot twists keep the listener engaged right to the finish.
Highly recommended!

Bad ending

Come on. You lead us all the way and then leave us guessing!! Did not appreciate the way this story ended. Kind of ruined the book.

Nothing less than riveting!

If you are looking for a book that will hold you in its spell until the very last word, The Resurrection Maker is it. It's an exceptional read (but not like great literature) that completely surprised me - in a good way). I've read two other Glenn Cooper novels, but this one is a stand-out. It's part Dan Brown mystery (apologies for the comparison as the writing is far superior to Mr. Brown's), part Dark Matter material, part string theory, part travelogue . . . I could go on and on. You have to be 'in the mood' for this type of action story, but if you are, it's well worth the time to listen. As for one reviewer's criticism of the ending, I rather agree. I wanted more closure, but it left me wondering, "What if?" and isn't that part of the magic of storytelling?

The masterful John Lee NEVER disappoints as a performer. I could listen to his voice for a lifetime. His ability to create so many accents and bring myriad characters to life is beyond brilliant.

I'm not sure into what genre this book falls, but whichever it is, that matters less than the sheer enjoyment and edge-of-your-seat emotions that is evokes. Well worth the time and credit spent for it.

Who Came Back

This was a very clever book. If you like alternate possibilities for the foundation of Christianity, with a little physics thrown in, this book might be for you. I liked the characters. Twists with good guys versus bad guys in the end were a little predictable, but it didn't change the book's enjoyment. John Lee did a good job with all the accents.

Not a keeper

The story appealed to me but it just didn't hold my attention. Often found myself drifting off.

Half way thru and I'm struggling...

Any additional comments?

3 stars but I am so struggling thru it...I don't usually write a review before the end of a book, but this one? I am so bogged down and having the hardest time getting thru it. And I like your writing Glenn, but oh my...not sure if I'm going to make it but I am on a "determined" role to finish this. John, I just don't think this is your kind of story, but I don't know if it's that or "the story". I am going to get thru this, but I must say, it's not like the others I have read of yours Glenn. Listener, Glenn is such a good writer, and this may fair well with some so try it...see if you can get thru it...remember, you can always return it. Which I may have to...if I can ever get thru it.
