By day, Ian Blackheath is the most sensual rogue in the colony of Virginia. At night, he secretly rides as Pendragon, ruthless leader of the Patriot cause. What is a masked raider supposed to do when a pint-sized mistress of disaster is dumped on the doorstep of his mansion?

When Ian Blackheath and Lucy have an altercation in Emily d'Autrecourt's millinery shop, the lovely Englishwoman is horrified at Blackheath's insensitivity toward his ward. Then Lucy steals a doll from Emily's shop-secreted inside the plaything is evidence of Emily's role as a spy. Accepting Ian's offer that she be Lucy's governess is dangerous, but how else can Emily search for the doll without arousing suspicion?

Ian is stunned when Emily agrees to take charge of "hurricane Lucy." As for guarding his secret-it should be no challenge to keep Emily far from the wing where Pendragon plots rebellion. He doesn't expect Emily to catch fire in his arms or for the tempting seamstress to discover the secret power of her own desires. Suddenly, in a land racing toward revolution, Ian and Emily must choose. With everything to lose, do they dare to risk their hearts?

The characters are wonderful and Lucy is a treat!! As always, Timothy Campbell is incomparable as a narrator and brings the story to life. I can't wait for Lucy's story!

I love this book!

Laughter, tears, suspense...this one has it all, and the icing on the cake is listening to Tim Campbell narrate it! I can't wait to get the next book in the series!

First time with this author...not the last!

Kimberly Castes is a new author for me, and I really enjoyed this book. However, this book reminded me of a TV series during the 70s. There is one scene in this book (I will not give spoilers) that was an actual scene in the series. Nonetheless, I enjoyed this book and Tim Campbell made it great.

Really Enjoyed

The story made me feel all human emotions possible.
It was different, well written and with a sense of humor only a parent can have. Tim Campbell as always was superb! The man can read a geometry book to me and he can make it sexy!

The Story

Well developed characters and an interesting plotline make this an enjoyable read. Pendragon, rebel leader of the Patriot cause, is being hunted by the British. A reluctant spy inadvertantly joins his household as a governess when a pint sized terror is dropped on his doorstep. This is a heartwarming romance combined with darker themes that include intrigue and romance. Overall, the narration is well done.

I loved the entire boat from beginning to end. I especially love the twist at the end of the book about the little daughter.

The intricate storyline.

I really liked the setting and time period of this story. It’s 1772 in America and the revolution is brewing. The characters are well-developed and as a reader I was pulling for them the entire book. At first I thought it was going to be a little steamy for me, but it was minimal. Twist near the end took me by surprise. I enjoyed the writing, this being the first book I’ve read by this author. The narrator did a very good job bringing the characters to life.

Great story. writing was 5 star. i laughed out loud many times. You will love it. Timothy Campbell is the best narrator. Not as enjoyable for me to listen to other books not performed by him.

I can't stand Lucy and how she's allowed to get away with destroying peoples property and livelihoods because she's "just a little girl who lost her mom"

Narrator is amazing as always tho
