You invited him into your life. And now you can never go back....

Pippa wants a second chance. Recently divorced and unhappy at work, she uproots her life to move to a beautiful farmhouse in the countryside, determined to make a fresh start. But Pippa soon realizes that troubles are never far behind. One night, when Pippa is at home alone, a stranger arrives at her front door. Pippa invites him in and, in a moment of madness, makes him an offer she believes could change everything....

Ryan is funny, charming, and haunted by his past. There, in the kitchen, over a glass of wine, Pippa thinks Ryan might be the answer to all of her problems. But how well does she really know him? Pippa can tell truth from lies. And she’d know if she were in danger. Wouldn’t she?

From Amazon best seller S. E. Lynes, The Proposal is a pause-resisting and utterly gripping thriller about the lengths we will go to for someone we love. Perfect for fans of Gone Girl, The Woman at the Window, and The Wife Between Us.

Awesome!

The end was a bit weird but it was an interesting book to say the least

STRANGE CLUTTER OF NOTES, UTIMATELY, DISAPPOINTING

The first few chapters had my attention but required going back to listen again to some parts until I figured out we were hearing excerpts from journals and notes from the characters lives that kept jumping around in time and perspective. Still I stuck it out because I just knew the author must have some amazingly interesting story to tell that would tie it all together in some way that I couldn't fathom. Turns out - not really. I don't want to give away anything, but the second time Pipa mentions Mrs. Danvers in her "private journal" I knew who that "surprise" character would turn out to be. I hoped I was wrong and that's what kept me listening. Or, I hoped that there was some mistaken identity theme soon to be revealed. There wasn't. This is just a strange, strange story. I'm actually a bit concerned for the author, S. E. Lynes because this sort of warped interpretation of love had to have come from someone who has experienced some terribly marred relationships.

Not my favorite

I love the way S E Lynes writes and Tamsin Kennard narrates her books so well, however this story wasn’t as good as some of her others.

It was Okay.

The beginning and the end of this book were the best parts. The middle dragged! The only reason I continued listening was because the narrator was excellent!!!

wow

I could not stop listening to this book. The narrator is fabulous; each voice is spot on. Where the author came up with the story line for this book is beyond me. Worth every credit a minute of listening.

All entertainment

I’ve slowly worked through all SE Lynes books and loved them all for their simple entertainment. (I also enjoy the casual mention of some of my favorite musicians) this one has a great ending. Oh and great narration… a narrator can make or break a story.

Good but a little creepy

This started out a little boring in my opinion and it took me awhile to get into it. Eventually though I could not stop listening, I had to know what was going to happen next! A very suspenseful and rather creepy thriller. I also
liked the way they did the narrative layout, made it even more suspenseful. A good listen!

Great Openning

The book started very well with a quirky heroine but took soon odd and disturbing turns in end.

I have no idea what I just listened to. 🤔 I can tell you that I loved it! This has been S.E Lynes craziest book yet. The writing and planning that took place within these pages were undoubtfully questionable. But in only the best way possible! There were many moments of casted off glances. Questioning "What in the world"? Thoughts of "Is she crazy"? "Does Ryan exist at all"? "Who is Mrs. Danvers." She's from "𝑹𝒆𝒃𝒆𝒄𝒄𝒂" right?

From the moment that Pippa opened the door to Ryan I was on the crazy train with these two! Neither of these characters were likable, neither of these characters were relatable, but wow were they addicting!

The novel reads by using blog posts and journal entries and audio recordings between Pippa & Ryan. It was as disjointed and disconcerting as everything else about the book. But this made that book so brilliant! At times I felt as mad & crazy as these characters were! This is the kind of book that you read the ending twice, because your just looking like 🤯 what the actual f*c*??? And the twists!! OMG! LOVE IT! This book.... there are no words! Read it! I'd recommend the audio version, but that's just me.

Gripping, well written, but too dark for me

Generally love this author, and this was as gripping as usual, but this one was just a little too dark for me. I kept listening but SPOILER ALERT it kept spiraling darker and the protagonist was just too psychologically messed up for me to enjoy the story. I prefer a story with a main character I like. I felt for her and cared what happened to her but I didn’t like her. That being said, if you don’t care about a happy ending you might like this. This author is extremely talented at writing the inner thought life of very complicated characters.
