Interesting characters and storyline

Kimberly Campbell has grown up and has made a few dubious decisions. Her parents were very well off and had expectations for Kimberly. Expectations that she never took seriously until now. Trying to find herself and set her own goals to be successful, she still struggles with being her daddy’s daughter and being herself.

Felicia Granville, the author, weaves an interesting story around a couple of common occurrences – gaining our parent(s) approval and finding oneself. Kimberly takes time to build her characters with depth and richness that allows the listeners to connect with them. Granville also captures the emotions and struggles of one trying to find one’s place in the world. While this story is slow, it is well done. There are a few minor plot twists but I suspect there will be more forthcoming as the story progresses in the next book.

The narrator, Niky Delgado gives a good performance using unique voices. Her tonal inflections are accurate and enrich the story. She speaks clearly and with enthusiasm. Her voice is smooth.

Overall, this book is extremely short. Almost like a chapter book but well worth the investment. The story and narrator make this a good story to hear when one has little time available. The ending is not what one expects as I said earlier it is designed more to be a chapter book.

There were no issues with the quality or production of this audiobook, it was well done.
