About this listen

Twenty tales of terror and suspense, brought to you by sinister storyteller Vincent Price.

Horror legend Vincent Price presents an anthology of eerie, unsettling tales with a devilish twist - some purportedly based on his own adventures, others narrated by him in his own inimitable style.

Listen to his horrifying accounts of an unnerving piscatorial experience down under, a violinist with very special hands, a Bonfire Night party when a bullying father disappeared and a secretary's murderous revenge. Here, too, are the spine-chilling stories of a beloved cat with an unusual inheritance, a scientist whose experiments on his own son lead to unforeseen danger and a phoney clairvoyant and her client, who seeks a preview of eternity....

Among the star casts are Garard Green, Peter Cushing, Bill Kerr, Coral Browne, Christopher Bidmead, Adrienne Corri, Betty Huntley-Wright, Freddie Jones, Edward Woodward, Annette Crosbie, Maurice Denham and Hywel Bennett.

Wonderful collection of Classic Gothic Horror

This is a wonderful collection of classic radio series The Price of Fear hosted by and featuring in several episodes the great Vincent Price. Supported by a wonderful cast including Peter Cushing and Edward Woodward among others, each tale is gothic horror and is wonderfully fearful. These episodes still hold up despite not being gory, though several tales are shocking for that era. The cast is superb and I love how Mr. Price is woven into many of the stories. A treat to listen to.

An incredible collection

This is a must- listen for any fan of Vincent Price. His silky smooth voice and gentlemanly demeanor makes this collection of stories so compelling that I did not want them to end. Toss in Peter Cushing, Edward Woodward and other guest narrators and you have a winning collection. Not all stories are equally good, and there are one or two duds, but taken as a whole it would be hard to find a better series of stories.

Narrated by a master of suspense

A collection of stories amplified by the voice of the master of suspense. Although some of them miss the mark, most stories included are well written and obviously very well read. This is definitely an audiobook worth your time if you like these types of stories.

pure cozy spooky bliss

love the fantastically silly framing device, where Vincent Price has to pretend these are all things that really happened to him as he's just roaming the Earth being a fancy spooky guy.
