About this listen

A reclusive former celebrity, a recovering good girl, and small town trouble...

It started as a joke. After a string of bad boyfriends, I made up a fake boyfriend so people would quit asking when I was going to meet a grumpy lumberjack trying to save his mama’s inn in my adopted hometown.

When my grandma demanded proof from afar, I sent her a picture of me and my “boyfriend.”

Spoiler alert: He wasn’t really my boyfriend.

He was actually a reclusive former boy band member who swings through town sometimes and is friends with my friends.

As much as a reclusive former boy bander can be friends with anyone, that is.

He doesn’t know I told anyone he’s my boyfriend. Or that his name is Steve. Or that my grandma judges him by his tattoos and manbun.

So when Grandma sends the guy she’d rather me marry to town to make sure “Steve” is good enough for me—and to talk me into marrying him instead—I have something of a problem.

But I got myself into this mess, so I’ll get myself out.

By proposing.

Relax, relax, I’m proposing a fake wedding.

And when he turns me down, I can say we broke up.

Except he doesn’t turn me down.

Instead, he offers me a trade.

He’ll pretend to be my groom, but I have to do something for him in return.

And that something?

Hoooo, boy.

I liked the man better when he was my pretend boyfriend Steve.

The Pretend Fiancé Fiasco is an action-packed romcom featuring the reclusive final member of the boy band Bro Code, a recovering good girl with too many men interested in her for all the wrong reasons, a treasure hunt, a fake engagement, and the best surprise to hit the Copper Valley universe since the Fireballs’ new mascot was revealed. This small town romantic comedy stands alone, but you won’t go wrong to listen to both the Copper Valley Bro Code series and the Copper Valley Fireballs series to catch all of the easter eggs.

I love this series and book 6 was well worth the wait. Davis and Sloan were so much fun. Lots of laughs and fun with what you would expect from a Copper Valley book with hidden surprises. Sloan gets it all started with a little fib and Davis surprises her by playing along. The Bro Code band member has been hiding away but Sloan will change that. Just a fun story.

Teddy Hamilton, CJ Bloom, and Ava Erickson were great to listen to. I highly recommend this book.

Loved it!

Friends and family shenanigans, mysteries, MANY twists you will never see coming.

Best end to a series ever. My heart is so full and my book hangover is so massive. Time for a reread of them all!

This is not the first book in the series, but it can be read as a complete stand-alone. However I think you will get more out of it if you have read the other books as you have met some of the characters before. But don’t let that deter you. This can be a stand-alone. But it will make you want to read all the other books!

You will get some fun little Easter eggs though if you have read some of the other series. But they are just minor, so if you haven't read the books you won't miss anything. But if you have the Easter eggs will give you quite a giggle.

I listened to the audiobook of this, and loved it! I think that hearing the voices gives you so much more as a reader. You really can feel the emotions. You connect much quicker to the characters as well. These narrators were top notch.

Teddy Hamilton is excellent as Davis Remington, reclusive and mysterious member of the Bro Code Boy Band. CJ Bloom does a great job as Sloane Pearce.

The Pretend Fiancé Fiasco might just be the best book Pippa Grant has written. There are a lot, and they're all fun to read, and I like them all, love some, and can't say enough good things about a handful.

I don't want to call them cameos, because a large percentage of the supporting characters come from all of the Bro Code books along with the Copper Valley Fireballs and even a true cameo from the CV Thrusters bookiverse. And they're all part of the story, and they're all important (vital even) to seeing this entire series reaching a crowning culmination. The Pretend Fiancé Fiasco is the cherry on top of the sundae on top of the highest pinnacle of Thorny Rock Mountain.

Secrets will be revealed. Questions will be answered. And while I've seen Pippa mention a time or two that Davis hadn't had a book yet because he wasn't yet speaking to her... well, just wow. When Davis started speaking to the author, he had a LOT of excellent things to say.

Sloane is the perfect match for Davis. When he finds out that she told her grandmother that she was engaged to him, a guy she barely knows, he Steps Up!

There are at least two plots running in this book - Sloane's drama with her overbearing and judgmental family, and Thorny Rock's treasure.

Do NOT miss this one! It's SO VERY VERY good!

You DO NOT WANT TO MISS this one! BEST!!

I have a new favorite Bro Code member-Davis is swoony, considerate, and kind. Sloane is a closet bad a$$. the narrator's are perfect. The book has so many cameos with the 1st epilogue being my favorite. It's a perfect end to this series though far from realistic- just the way we love Pipa Grant books.

Fantastic end to this series

I have waited patiently for Davis’ story. I couldn’t be happier with it. I loved it soooo much. I love that several characters made a visit into this book.

My life is complete!!

Pippa is my favorite writer, but the last few books did not reach my expectations. Don't get me wrong, they were great, but not my favorite from her. This book was the Pippa I love!! Funny, heartwarming, and easy. Loved it came full circle. Now I would like a series with all the children grown!!

Davis Remington, ex bro code band member, and Sloane Pearce, nurse and museum curator, are a fake fiancé match made in heaven ! Nothing is going to stand in the way of these two finally figuring out what really happened in Shippwrecked/Copper Valley and where the pirate treasure is hidden . All while having the most sizzling chemistry, laugh out loud moments, and a secret stalker that is making their lives very difficult .

I absolutely loved this book and it was such a perfect ending to the Copper Valley Bro Code series and everything this small, charming pirate town has to offer . I cannot wait to see where Pippa takes us next !

This is the sixth and final book in the Copper Valley Bro Code series + it can be read as a complete stand alone . Although I highly recommend listening to all of this series first, along with the Cooper Valley Fireballs series so you have a complete picture and understand where all the characters come from .

This book was given to me for honest review by the author .

I seriously love being back in Shipwreck; where else is there a foul mouthed parrot (he is my absolute favorite), goats running loose, and pirate themed everything?! Sloan and Davis were great with the fake relationship and National Treasure style treasure hunt, but honestly all the side characters help make this story amazing! The narration was perfection and brought this to hilarious heights… no really, I was laughing nonstop!

Another great addition to Shipwreck!
