Acerca de esta escucha

In The Precipice, Noam Chomsky sheds light into the phenomenon of Trumpism, exposes the catastrophic nature and impact of Trump's policies on people, the environment, and the planet as a whole, and captures the dynamics of the brutal class warfare launched by the masters of capital to maintain and even enhance the features of a dog-eat-dog society to the unprecedented mobilization of millions of people against neoliberal capitalism, racism, and police violence.

This is a book of unedited interviews, and as a result, every point Noam makes, clear and well-argued though it is, gets repeated 5 or more times throughout the book in more or less the same words. You will be getting Deja Vu the entire read. This didn’t dampen the value of the book for me too much, but it’s glaring enough to be worth mentioning. This book could probably have been edited down to a quarter of the length without losing any of the points made.

Fantastic but repetitive

Noam Chomsky's unique perspective is more important now than ever before. Truly on the precipice of collapse, America has been hijacked into the believes of a radical ideology created to aid the interests of the ultra wealthy. The commentaries expressed in this title lay bare the atrocities of those "masters of the universe."

Of Incalculable Importance

Noam Chomsky is a voice in the dark, taking no sides and just explaining power as it truly is. Listen for yourself and make your own decisions. I for one consider this human worthy of history, a never ending voice wading through the propaganda of all power structures to provide some small equalities.

Thank You Sir.

Balanced and a surprise for the divided nation

listen. heed. his warning is very real. I don't wish to sound alarmist but this is the verifiable factor the matter.

the foremost intellectual of our time

There seemed to be a lot of good information in this book that, I believe, should be heard by all. Unfortunately, it was so overcast by the thick layers of sarcasm (which I'm generally quite fond of but maybe not with this subject matter) that I don't imagine it will be very informative to those coming from an inquisitively right viewpoint. If this book was solely for the more left leaning audience, then it will probably be well received. Other than that, my only critique would be that it was a bit repetitive.

Rich in sarcasm....

I love Chomsky, and this book contains brilliant gems. however many thoughts are repeated

Repetition after repetition

I found the narrator REALLY distracting. He has a choppy, forced, clipped delivery style that sounds annoyingly robotic. Each, word, uttered, as if, he is, reading, from a, very tiny, teleprompter, screen.

Painful.

Chomsky is brilliant as usual.

The book is very informative when Chomsky concentrates on political history, but gets repetitive when talking about modern electoral politics. The narrator is terrible by the way and sounds very robotic. For some reason most of Chomsky’s books have exceptionally dull narrators and the subject matter deserves much better.

Informative in spots but repetitive

lors of insight and relevant facts. but plagued by bias and redundancy. more of a series of interviews than a coherent book. but happy to havecread it

good, but biased
