Publisher's summary
Meet Orchid, a goal-oriented good girl whose origins began in the hood. The very same hood she craves, but it's off limits to her after the death of her father, one of the state's biggest kingpins. Released from the reins her mother kept hold of, she finds her way back to the hood and is attracted to one of its most eligible ballers.
Demonte is every woman's wet dream: tall, dark, handsome, and paid. When he crosses paths with Orchid, he's determined to make her his. He eventually wears her down, and a one-of-a-kind love begins that doesn't go unnoticed. When jealousy, deception, and envy come into play, lives are lost, and the drama begins.
Having lost the love of her life, Orchid struggles with picking up the pieces of her heart and raising a son on her own. After years of living in solitude, she emerges bigger and badder than ever, ready to take on life. When she finally opens her heart and again lets love in, her past catches up with her and puts in jeopardy her happily ever after.

Story
Obituary writer Nadine Barbault doesn’t mind being called “Lady Death”. It suits the ice queen persona she’s cultivated to survive the fast-paced Toronto Herald. So when Nadine learns that famous (and reclusive) author Dot Voline has died, she doesn’t hesitate to run the obituary…only to discover that Dot is very much alive. Nadine’s screw-up has brought Wesley Chen of the rival Spear no end of joy—she’s been a thorn in his extremely ambitious side for years. But the renewed interest in Dot also surfaced chatter about a mysterious past scandal.

Ryder, Garrett, Kenzo, and Diesel - The Vipers. Their deals are as sordid as their business, and their reputation is enough to bring a grown man to his knees, forcing him to beg for mercy. They are not people you mess with, yet my dad did. The old man ran up a debt with them and then sold me to cover his losses. Yes, sold me. They own me now. I’m theirs in every sense of the word. But I’ve never been meek and compliant.

Story
Eight years ago I fell into a secret summer fling with my best friend’s little sister before our lives went in different directions. Now, I’m the grumpy to Juliet’s sunshine on a popular dating podcast we host, and when a wealthy fan gives us a charming coastal cottage as the biggest thank you ever, we head to the town where I grew up to give it a makeover. And find the house has only one bed. Located under a mirrored ceiling.

HORRRRRRRRIBLE NARRATOR
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
I wouldn't recommend the audible version to my worst enemy due to the horrible job that the narrator did. It definitely took away from the actual story itself...YES that's how bad Cee Scott did.
Would you be willing to try another one of Cee Scott’s performances?
Heck no! Never again! If she is the narrator, I'd prefer just to read the book instead of listen unfortunately.

WORST NARRATOR EVER
What disappointed you about The Point of It All, Volume 1?
Cee Scott is by far the worst narrator. The story was really good, but it took we a week to finish listening to it because of her horrible reading!!!
What didn’t you like about Cee Scott’s performance?
It was a bad idea to switch voices in between characters..

poor execution
Audible review
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Give an actual story...this felt like several sex scenes written and a story fleshed out around them.
Would you ever listen to anything by Tamyra Griffin again?
sure
What three words best describe Cee Scott’s voice?
rough, thick, grating. she's improved from some of the other listens, but it' s still rough. There were missing words in sentences, mispronunciation of commonly used words and long pauses mid-sentences. I often had to look at my device to see if a call was coming thru or if it just stopped.
What character would you cut from The Point of It All, Volume 1?
orchid...and what was up with all the weed smoking? I thought it was as overdone as the sex scenes. and explain why orchid is such a "bomb" A chick.
