Absolutely packed with history of Kings & Queens

Absolutely packed with history of Kings & Queens and filled in so many holes for me by laying everything in a very easy to read/listen fashion. As I listened to the story, I found myself thinking how different things were back then, particularly compared to how the English royalty operates today. Imagine going from a time in place where you eliminated potential heirs to the thrown or married people from your family to other families in different countries to bond the families for war. Well done and excellent narration!

History Becomes Tangible

What makes this book awesome is that it makes historical figures into REAL people all of us can know as flesh and blood and bones and not just some factoid in the pages of a dusty boring schoolbook. Another thing I appreciated is the gift that History and a good author so often gives...the illustration of the same mistakes made over and over perhaps by different people in different ages and generations...yet the same mistakes. History is nothing if not cyclical. If it weren't for being History, this book could be a page out of Now.

The most engaging telling of history I have ever heard!

Dan is by far my favorite historian so a bit bias. But his history of the Plantagenets is as entertaining and engaging as any history book you will read. Dan has the incredible talent of making the events of history feel narrative and relatable as he often gives point of views of those outside of the royal family and makes you feel the impact of these nobles on the everyday person of the age.

Clear, concise history

The history of the Plantagenets is complex but the author told it clearly without lots of digressions. Easy to listen to and understand. Author’s voice was clear and pleasing

Eloquently written and narrated. A tendency to get verbose and pompous in its summation. Highly recommended

Very engaging and informative

I loved this book. Very informative and insightful into one of the most iconic dynasties of all time. Learned a lot from the book and was cool that the author himself read the book. He has a very upbeat voice which helped make this book enjoyable and engaging without feeling dull like a typical history text book does. This is great for any medieval history buff!

Detailed Overview of the Plantagenet Era

I enjoyed this book very much. It pulled together a lot of the history that I only knew in bits and pieces. The narration was excellent. The writing was clear and concise.

Fascinating!

Dan does an incredible job of making history entertaining, informative and easy to follow. He also does a really good job narrating. All of his books have been worth the purchase.

Narrator is superb

The guy who wrote the book is narrating. What could go wrong ? Very interesting, flows fast

A great book

I was leary of this because it was lengthy. But I didn't want it to end. It was every bit as entertaining as fictional accounts of the period.
