About this listen

In the small coastal city of Oran, Algeria, rats begin rising up from the filth only to die as bloody heaps in the streets. Shortly after, an outbreak of the bubonic plague erupts and envelops the human population. Albert Camus' The Plague is a brilliant and haunting rendering of human perseverance and futility in the face of a relentless terror born of nature.

Very good!

My first book from Camus, I thoroughly enjoyd it and the narration was superb!
Also somewhat topical consider the current climate, obviosly not comperrable but a rather hopeful view of the human condition in a time of morbid strugle, whilst also telling of the bleakness that can arrise in people.
Worth the read, in a pandemic or not!

O So Fascinating. Meticulous Indeed.

In order not to spend a most deserved length of time in typing this review, I shall hope to keep it short but true.

I had previously read another of his titles "The Fall" and although that was quite the mentally stimulating but complex literary read, this... this was magnificent in the most purest ways.

Although a seemingly lengthy read, it flies by fairly quickly due to the magnificent pacing and the satisfying, fruitful plot.

More than enough tragedy, irony and reflections of the human character in such a situation (as we may or may not be depending on your reading this).

Another master piece by the author, Camus.
