About this listen

When a mysterious client asks former Delta Force operator Case Lee to investigate a massive New Guinea gold discovery, the job quickly unravels into an incredible world of spies, terrorists, and tribal headhunters. Case, with a sense he's being played, walks away from the entire mess. Until life-threatening events pull him back in. This time, he's not taking any prisoners.

A murdered wife. A bounty on his head. Case lives an isolated life on the Ace of Spades, an old wooden cruiser plying the waters of the Intracoastal Waterway from Virginia to Florida. His only friends are a collection of former Delta Force teammates spread across the globe. And an enigmatic broker of clandestine information, Jules of the Clubhouse.

Case wants out. But bounty hunters and spies and shadowed players keep pulling him back in. They help him discover his special skills. Very special skills.

If you like Jack Reacher and Mitch Rapp, you'll love this new novel from acclaimed author Vince Milam.

Great listen.

This is the second book and another “Great Listen” for me. I sincerely enjoy this book and the reader. They keep my interest and even make me laugh out loud. The suspense and humor along with a great visual picture are making me glad I kept looking.
So glad I found this author and reader. I was really getting bored and tired of substandard stuff. At least for me.
If you like this type of story, you can’t go wrong with this series. Even Cici and Tinker Juarez would tell you so.
Can’t wait to start the next one!

Great - Super - Until the Cliche

Well done character development and personal stories. Not a hard charging action story but action and introspection, well done! Love the cast of characters from Mom & CC to his blood brothers. I really only have one complaint - really Mr. Milam you had to end the chance to learn who the pay master with a bizarre turn, with a cliche? What a let down and very frustrating.

looking for word count?

it feels like you spend more time waxing poetic, then actually writing the book. maybe less.

Stagnant Plot

Positives:
1. Excellent start. nothing less than James Bond.
2. Main character is smart and moves in a professional manner.
Negatives:
1. Too much detail while meeting with friends and catching up. its boring.
2. Narrator's switching tones between different characters is annoying and amateurish.
3. As plot progresses, it loses track of what its all about.

conclusion: boring and timewasting. may be good while reading but in audiobook form, its not recommended.

Good listen, but not as thorough as hoping

Overall, another good listen, but the story came off to me as somewhat rushed and quite a bit less developed than I had been hoping or than we get from other similar works from this genre. Narrator is good overall, but some of the female voices were annoying at best, and cringe at worst.
