About this listen

Are you a material girl? The truth is that, as women, we all have a unique relationship with money. We strive for financial security to support our family, ensure we can retire comfortably, create independence separate from our partners, and along the way, buy some nice purses. As much as we are motivated to make money, we often do not consider the crucial relationship between what we do today and how it will impact our life tomorrow.

From your roaring 20s, to your thrifty 30s, and all the way to your (hopefully) smooth 60s, The Money Queen's Guide will work to guide you through each of these financial decades and provide insight and detailed guidance into the steps you can take and the decision you should make to build a financially responsible future. Financial security is an exciting journey we can take together. So pack your purse and get ready for the ride....

It's All About the Money

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I'd like to have a little more details on how to save money, when you're on a limited budget but this wasn't that sort of book.

Was The Money Queen's Guide worth the listening time?

Yes, I think it is worth a listen. It gives some general ideas about saving, 401k, and wealth building.

Financial Advice for Women

Would you listen to The Money Queen's Guide again? Why?

As a person with good financial sense, I can vouch that this audiobook is the real deal! Not only is the author's financial advice sound, but it is presented to listeners in an engaging and straightforward manner. The author covers a lot of important information, and it is clear that she has a passion for helping women become financially independent. At the same time, the narrator presents the information with such humility that the listener never feels patronized or talked down to. Great audiobook!

Not All It Entails

The book started off with an extremely long disclaimer which put me in mind of a weight loss surgeon who was 100 pounds over weight but wanted me to allow him to operate on me. Scary. If none of the things presented could be depended upon then why listen? I got through the first half of chapter one and found it hard to finish listening to the rest of the book. I did skip through to several places before going back just to determine if it was worth listening to. a few of the tips are usable but you must know that you must have your own financial adviser and also be extra cautious when investing your money.

Great for Women 20 - 30 - 40 years old

Would you listen to The Money Queen's Guide again? Why?

I wish I had someone like this helping me with my finances. In my 20's, I was scared to death being out in the world...owing for my student loans….and WOW I did not know I needed to pay for toilet paper. I thought toilet paper magically appeared in my bathroom (what do you mean I need to buy it from the grocery store?).

At that time, being a grown up 20 something, I was caught up in the credit card trap. I was living on my credit cards to pay for food, housing and just trying to live while paying off my student loans.

In my 30's, I married and my husband and I both lived off our credit cards. I am SO thankful that I finally consolidated my credit and got out of that mess. I really wish I had this book during that time.

My daughter is graduating from her Master's program, and I am sending her a copy right away. She is in debt up to her eyeballs and it is something we cannot help her with at this time. We could have if I had this book in the past.

This is a must have book for financial advice geared towards Women. I am passing on the audible version to her so that she can listen to it in her car.

Full of specific Information

Would you consider the audio edition of The Money Queen's Guide to be better than the print version?

I like audio-books because I can conveniently listen in my car - I don't own the print edition, so cannot compare, but for practical books like this, it is often good to have both versions so you can get the convenience as well as use print to study or apply the specific advice

Who was your favorite character and why?

there's no characters in this book - I did like the elements where a more personal story was told to illustrate the points - financial advice can be very dry so I think it always benefits from being given in a way that allows the reader to almost forget they are receiving it. The Money Queen Facts were quite good, gives a perspective of what reality is for women and money

What aspect of Tiffany Williams’s performance would you have changed?

More anecdotal settings for the information given - the info is good - fully American focused, which for me as a Caribbean national, loses some relevance, but for Americans (her intended audience for the book obviously) I think there is a lot of good info - it just is a little hard to digest sometimes without the storytelling setting. I don't want people to be put off by this though - there's a lot in there

What insight do you think you’ll apply from The Money Queen's Guide?

I think I knew most of the info already, also I am in my 50s, and this book takes women right from college days, even schooldays, through to retirement - wish I'd had some of the advice earlier in life!

Any additional comments?

I was given this audiobook free for an honest review - my overall rating is that it is a good book, for young American women especially, to buy - great solid advice in one package.
