And many more! ABOUT AUTHOR JERRY D. YOUNG Jerry D Young was born at home, in Senath, Missouri July 3, 1953. At age 5 the family rented a small farm house on an active farm 40 miles southwest of St. Louis. While the family weren't farmers, they lived something of a homestead type life, raising a milk cow, sometimes two, and calves, a pig or two, chickens, and the occasional goat. Along with the stock, a large garden helped to feed Jerry's three brothers and two sisters for several years. Fishing and hunting contributed to the pantry, as did foraging the wild edibles on the property. At the age of 14, the family, minus a brother and two sisters that were now adults and on their own, moved back to Senath. Having been encouraged from an early age to read, Jerry was a regular patron of the Senath Branch Library. A love of a good story was born within him, and shortly before graduating high school, for a lack of stories that he liked at the library, he began to write short vignettes, and started taking notes for stories that he wanted to tell. Jerry eventually began to write in earnest and now has more than 100 titles to his credit including Prep/PAW stories, Action/Adventure, and a few of the romance type stories that first got him started

Glad Jerry D. Young added more books to audible

Loved it! Although this wasn’t the usual wonderful narration of Christopher Lane and others from Jerry’s books, but rather by generated speech, I loved it anyway as it provided another great story by my favorite author. I was so happy to see more books released and I send my most sincere thanks to Mr. Young. I hope there are more books released and done on audible by this author please!!!

Great story

Great story. Gave it an overall score of 4 because it wasn't a full story. Would have been overall 5 if it was a full story. Definitely will listen again

Okay Story - No to AI Voice.

Another title I explored recently was The Mechanic, which, to its credit, had a decently constructed storyline. The plot itself showed promise, there was enough grit, tension, and pacing to keep me curious. However, any potential the story had was undercut by its narration.

Unfortunately, the audiobook was voiced by an AI narrator, and it showed. The delivery was flat, unemotional, and noticeably robotic. Moments that should have been intense or heartfelt came across as mechanical (no pun intended). Even worse, the AI struggled with pronunciation at times, which broke immersion and made it hard to stay connected to the narrative. Instead of enhancing the experience, the narration became a distraction I couldn’t tune out.

It's a shame, because with a human narrator who could inject the right emotion and tone into the performance, The Mechanic might have landed a lot better. As it stands, I can’t recommend this one, narration is a huge part of the audiobook experience, and this one simply doesn’t deliver.

I'd suggest giving this one a pass unless a future re-release includes a proper voice actor.
