Exciting regency romance

This was quite different from most regency romances that I’ve read (in a good way). The main character wasn’t a damsel in distress all the time. She was smart and capable and I liked it! The narrator did a great job-She was pleasant to listen to. This was a very enjoyable book!

An enjoyable spy regency

What a fun spy regency! No one would think that the only daughter of a duke is a spy, but that's what Lady Alice Huntington is, and she's a good one too--with great instincts, knife-fighting skills, and she can untie any knot when restrained. Christian (Lord Wolverton) is a baron, who's recently been called home from the war when his brother dies in an accident and his father suffers a stroke. He's a spy with the Falcon Group, trying to find out who killed Thomas Norwich.

I love Regency romances and I love mysteries, so this was an especially delightful read for me, although I didn't guess who was behind the selling of a spy list to the French--I'd never have figured it out. Alice and Christian are both wonderful characters--smart, brave, kind and they don't look down on those of lesser stations. I liked that Alice's parents had genuine affection for each other which seems to have been uncommon among the peerage in that era. I liked the intrigue and how well Alice and Christian worked together, especially liked that Christian looked at Alice as an equal and enjoyed learning all her secret talents.

I really enjoyed the narrator's voice. She was a new narrator to me.

Regency adventure

This is the first of this genre that I have read by this author, but I have long loved her work. It was delightful. It had the same vibe as her other stories; couple stay strong and work through challenges together, a bit of wit, danger, and great supporting characters. Narrator great with the different voices.

I love this! The story was fast paced and engaging, the historical details perfect and the characters well drawn and memorable! The narration was perfection. Christian and Alice are a well suited pair with all the right sparks. Even if you’re not a fan of romances, this book hits all the right notes of intrigue, memorable protagonists to root for and a supporting cast worth spending time with. A thoroughly enjoyable read (listen) that I highly recommend

I love a good Regency romance and I also love a good suspense novel. Julie Coulter Bellon successfully combined the two genres into one great read! I enjoyed the twists and turns in the story line, the relationship between the two main characters and the way she wrapped everything up in the end.
Sometimes the endings are so rushed, you don’t get to enjoy the closure. Not this one. Great read.

Great book

This book has it all! Mystery, intrigue, and romance are all included in this one. The female lead is strong and relatable and the storyline captured my full attention from the beginning making this book impossible to put down. The narrator gave a wonderful performance throughout.

I always enjoy Julie Coulter Bellon's book. This one was the first Regency of hers that I've read. It still has the adventure and suspense. I throughly enjoyed the book and the narration. Good clean book.

I truly delightful and fun romantic adventure. Very fun to listen too and the narrator did amazing.

Another win!!!

I enjoy all of Julie’s books, but this is my favorite! As a mom of three girls, I love a strong, intelligent female lead. This book did not disappoint. The story is entertaining and got me through several miles of dog walking! The narrator did a marvelous job. The pacing was good, the accents were spot on, and the voices were believable. Highly recommend!

Suspenseful Historical Secret Agents Romance

Lady Alice was quite gutsy for the time period; spending time with men who could be traitors and murders, being shot at, chasing after threatening men with knives, escaping bonds her kidnappers tied her up with, and fighting in hand to hand combat to save the lives of her fellow secret agents. At first Christian Wolverton doesn't believe she's capable until he sees her in action. There was plenty of suspense as they work together to figure out who is trying to sell a list of secret British spies before it happens and without getting caught. I loved that Christian respected her work and despite his growing romantic feelings for her didn't try to make her give it up. He was a swoon worthy hero and she was a strong heroine.

I loved the British narrator with her English pronunciations of the words. She added plenty of drama and intensity in her tone with voice changes for the different characters, making me feel like I was part of the story, and had me listening in at times with bated breath until the end.
