Worth every minute

Wonderful story from Rudyard Kipling. The narration is very enjoyable. Get this story and sit back and enjoy a gothic horror story.

The Beast

The narration was excellent. Interesting story line and characters, but lacking in suspense. Overall a nice armchair read.

Classic Kipling

Perhaps a bit dated in today's "woke" society, indeed that can be applied to just about all Victorian authors now, but regardless, a fine short story well worth listening to.

Don't mess with religion.

Only if you worship Yahweh can you because he is the creator of the universe.

At times a bit too loud. Apart from that, good.

The narrator came through a bit loud doing the voice of one of the chatacters. He still did well. The sound should have been more balanced, or capped.

Remarkable.

All my life I have read the poetry of Rudyard Kipling, even memorized some, hoping for a cleansing of my soul, poems like "If". That is why this tale into horror, brilliantly conceived and written, took me by surprise. So I will be going back to explore all his works.....maybe Jewels await me!

A Period Horror Tale

This is another great classic “horror” story from renowned author Rudyard Kipling. While not as frightening today, this tale is set during the British occupation of India, it is beautifully narrated by BJ Harrison and very entertaining.

Must listen again

I fear I was not paying close enough attention so I will endeavor to listen again. The reader was so very good that I'm afraid I got caught up in the telling, more than the story.

Old-style horror story

Classic horror story set in British India. Starts out a bit like P. G. Wodehouse, with what seems like upper-class/colonial British twittery in India, but then turns gruesome. The narration is brisk, clear, and very well-suited to the content.
