About this listen

Thrown together by fate, three women get a second chance to go back in time and change their lives forever.

They say once in a blue moon, you get the chance of a lifetime, and this was that blue moon.

Three friends. Second chances. One miraculous Christmas.

A strange Christmas letter appears, and Macy Kennedy is forced to go back home to the small town she has avoided for more than 30 years. Kissing Bridge is a rural snow town full of Christmas-obsessed people. Despite an oncoming blizzard and in spite of her feelings, Macy packs up to leave on the adventure of a lifetime.

She bribes her loyal secretary and the firm’s maid to help drive her through a blizzard to accomplish the sordid ordeal. Little can they ever imagine that a rare, mystical blue moon hangs high in the sky on this Christmas Eve and that magic lives in this enchanted mountain town full of love and friendship.

Miracles happen every day in the adorable snow town of Kissing Bridge Mountain, but nobody expected this.

An adventure of a lifetime awaits, when three friends get a second chance to go back in time and change their lives forever.

Not quite what I expected, still pleasant surprise

Okay, I was expecting more of a Hallmark story. Someone who gets the opportunity to make things right. Perhaps with a missed opportunity of a love interest. Not the case at all, but definitely worth the listen.

If you are expecting Hallmark fluff, well....just hang in there. The story starts off kind of rough. The introduction of 3 main cast members, Macy, Sam and Naomi are not warm and fuzzy. In fact, they're kind of sad. Macy is cold and kind of self-serving. Sam is kind of mousy and doesn't seem to have the back-bone to stand up to her boss (Macy). And Naomi, is out to make a quick buck. She's had to work hard for everything in her life. The listener may be tempted to pause the audio, re-read the title and ask herself/himself...whaat?

Hang in there! This is where the story truly begins and the author makes you want to be invested in each of these ladies lives. I won't say anymore because I don't want to spoil anything, but PLEASE finish the story. You won't regret it.

Ms. Araya delivers a very nice performance. She allows for the listener to be transported through the story and the result is a pleasant listening experience. I continue to enjoy her audio performances.

Mature Content: mild language (2 occurrences. Taking of God's name in vain, and another phrase using 'shit'). Honestly, it fits the rough nature of the characters speaking these phrases. 99% of book is fine.

I received the audiobook free from narrator. My review is honest and voluntarily written

A Perfect Representation of Christmas

The author really did a great job writing this beautifully heartwarming and bittersweet story. It had me feeling so many emotions throughout and was a perfect Christmas listen. It is a reminder of all the things that are important and what makes the holiday so special. I enjoyed each of the character's past Christmases and seeing how they had been changed. It is a charming piece of work but also has some sad aspects.

The narrator did an outstanding job bringing out all the emotions in this performance. I already liked her as a narrator before in Death By Crockpot and I feel like she did an even better performance in this book. She did a good job keeping character voices consistent throughout and keeping the listener engaged. I enjoyed this performance and look forward to more from this narrator.

Very happy ending

I wasn't expecting the turn this book took and I really enjoyed it. It was a great do-over story with some lessons to be learned without being too churchy if you know what I mean. I typically like a story with some grit to it and this had very little but did keep my interest.

Christmas Do-Over

Three ladies are thrown together on a road trip to go settle the affairs of one of their mothers. All three express regret about the course of their lives. They are given 3 special do-over cookies which they believe are quaint and sweet, but will have no effect on their lives. Except...it does. All three get to relive a pivotal Christmas in their lives.
Lovely, sweet story that will tug at your emotions as the lives of the three women are intertwined together for life.
Narrator was spot-on in every way and very easy to listen to.

A Christmas miracle worthy of a listen

I'm not normally a Christmas story kind of person but this book really touched my heart. This book is truly about do overs and making good choices. The author and narrator really resonate this throughout the story. You could hear the humor and love in the narrators voice that added another layer to this story. This is the kind of story I like to crawl into the book and loose myself in the authors world. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

A Story Not to be Missed

This was my first story by Linda West but I am very happy I took the chance.
This is a very well written story about the choices we make and where those choices may lead us.
So many choices I have made that I would love the chance for a Christmas Do Over.

This was also my first book narrated by Jennifer Jill Araya.
I can say she did an awesome job bringing each person to life. Easy to tell them apart and recognize them when they return at the end.

Small town magic...

A cute, cozy little Christmas story that takes place in Kissing Bridge... a small town that I fell in love with when I read Linda's book, Death by Crockpot. This story has some of the same cast of characters (what, you didn't believe me when I said, small town? LOL).
Yup, the sisters are back to baking, and this time they've cooked up a batch of Magical Christmas Cookies, and just in time for three of the newest visitors, to their holliday-bedecked town...
So go ahead and get this lighthearted tail of Holliday fun. I loved it, and I think you will too!
I listened to the audio version and Jennifer Jill Araya proves again that she is right narrator for the job...
