Love the Story; Hate the Narrator

I always love the plots, storylines and characters. I’ve recently rediscovered Emma Latham and really prefer audiobooks these days. So, I’ve been re-listening to the books. The Narrator’s voice and intonation are alright even though the intellectual Thatcher would never butcher the words over three syllables. The hesitant speech style works but doesn’t excuse poor reading skills. I find I can’t figure out what whole sentences mean, at times. BUT, I just can’t stand the Narrator’s foreign pronunciations. French is awful; Spanish is terrible and don’t even bother with Greek. This is one of the books I just can’t listen to for a second time. It’s really too bad.
