About this listen
200 years ago it devoured Earth. 20 years ago it devoured Gilgamesh. 2 weeks ago it entered our dreams. Al isn’t just a spy, he’s one of the best covert agents alive. At least, he was before everyone in the system started dreaming about him. Now his cover’s blown and he’s out of his depth, scrambling for answers to a mystery humanity has never been able to solve. The Goo. The great cosmic, planet-eating substance that swallowed whole systems. No one knows what it is or how it works, least of all Al, but the message is out there and time is running out. The Goo is shifting. Now, it’s up to Al and his crew to investigate.
With his life destroyed and desperation setting in, Al is forced to embark on a trip no sane person would dare. Al’s search for answers risks everything as he seeks the key to humanity’s survival and unlocks dark secrets of our existence. Join Al and his crew as they embark on the journey of a lifetime, exploring family, the pressures of expectation, failure, patience, and queer identity across an entirely new galaxy.

A Destroyer of Planets
This was my first experience with this author's work, and it was entertaining. I enjoyed the science fiction elements of this story which included space and space travel. I liked Al because he wasn't a typical hero as he was a spy who lived a life of lies. I liked the crew that traveled with Al as they were the family that Al chose to join him on the dangerous mission to face the destroyer of planets. I thought Tom Kereama's narration was great as he provided different voices for the various characters, and his performance enhanced the story's entertainment. I was given a copy of the audiobook. I volunteered, without financial gain, to post this review which reflected my honest opinions regarding this audiobook.
