A Wonderful Retelling
Walt Disney introduced the Legend of Sleepy Hollow to my generation. It’s the tale of Ichabod Crane, a geeky superstitious schoolteacher, who runs afoul of a physically tough local man and his gang of friends when both men decide to woo the daughter of a wealthy farmer. Things do not end well for Ichabod, but was he the victim of his rival or of the legendary headless horseman? This very short audio version has almost none of the depth and detail of the original short story, but it does succinctly tell all the high points.

That was some twist
I remembered this was one of the stories that was discussed in my American Literature class in college. I completely forgot how the story went but surely I never thought it would have a mysterious and sad ending for our main character. It is fun if seen in a mysterious perspective. But my romantic side is just sad she did not get the one woman he has been rooting for.
