About this listen

Robert Greene is a master guide for millions, distilling ancient wisdom and philosophy into essential texts for seekers of power, understanding and mastery. Now he turns to the most important subject of all - understanding people's drives and motivations, even when they are unconscious of them themselves.

We are social animals. Our very lives depend on our relationships with people. Knowing why people do what they do is the most important tool we can possess, without which our other talents can only take us so far. Drawing from the ideas and examples of Pericles, Queen Elizabeth I, Martin Luther King Jr, and many others, Greene teaches us how to detach ourselves from our own emotions and master self control, how to develop the empathy that leads to insight, how to look behind people's masks, and how to resist conformity to develop your singular sense of purpose.

Whether at work, in relationships, or in shaping the world around you, The Laws of Human Nature offers brilliant tactics for success, self-improvement, and self-defence.

Great book on the nature of human nature, discussing the topics of history, psychology, philosophy and biology. The manner of the story telling preceding the explaination of the principles of behaviour is art in its own right.

This book is the perfect book to understand Human-beings from a psychological point of view. And it allows you to understand others as well as yourself better.
I liked that there are practical advices on each chapter on how to deal with whatever the chapter was about.
I would recommend this book to anyone, because everyone of us will have to deal with people at some point during the day or night. So it would be wise to know who you’re dealing with, and this book helps!

I found myself often exclaiming “that’s so true about human nature”. Excellent book. I enjoyed the historical figures that’s covered before the author discusses the “human nature” aspect. Exceptional!

A powerful mirror!

I love Greene's books, but this is not the first where I find myself being bored of the example stories he gives. Specially if you read other books of his, you meet a lot of annectodes you're gonna be familiar with. The content and general messages are spot on and very useful, but about 70% of the book is just storied to underline the main points.

Good content but bloated
