Acerca de esta escucha

With time running out to stop the nuclear destruction of Tel Aviv, Dewey Andreas must defeat his most fearsome opponent yet.

Off a quiet street in Brooklyn, New York, Israeli Special Forces commander Kohl Meir is captured by operatives of the Iranian secret service, who smuggle Meir back to Iran, where he is imprisoned, tortured, and prepared for a show trial. What they don’t know is that Meir was in New York to recruit Dewey Andreas for a secret operation.

Meir had been tipped off that Iran had finally succeeded in building their first nuclear weapon, one they were planning to use to attack Israel. His source was a high-level Iranian government official and his proof was a photo of the bomb itself. Dewey Andreas, a former Army Ranger and Delta, owes his life to Meir and his team of Israeli commandos. Now, to repay his debt, Dewey has to attempt the impossible - to both rescue Meir from one of the world’s most secure prisons and to find and eliminate Iran’s nuclear bomb before it’s deployed - all without the help or sanction of Israel or America (at the near certain risk of detection by Iran).

Unfortunately, Dewey’s first moves have caught the attention of Abu Paria, the brutal and brilliant head of VEVAK, the Iranian secret service. Now Dewey has to face off against, outwit, and outfight an opponent with equal cunning, skill, and determination, with the fate of millions hanging in the balance.

If you could sum up The Last Refuge in three words, what would they be?

Another good journey.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Dewey - he's the hero. You cannot root against him.

Which character – as performed by Peter Hermann – was your favorite?

Any of the "bad" guys. The accents and voices of the bad guys were very well done.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I had problems stopping listening.

Third time's the charm!

Would you listen to The Last Refuge again? Why?

Sure, Why not?!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Dewy, hands down. He's a great character. Dewy is one of those characters that you think about in real life situations. i.e "What would Dewy do?" The guy is so much fun to follow through the stories of deception, espionage, romance, terror, victory and sometimes his own brand of hard line justice.

Another great one in the series!!

Any additional comments?

Coes never fails to deliver with his Andreas series. This one was more of a slow burn than the first two, but not in a bad way. The characters are developing well over the course of the series, and there is continuous tie in from some of the secondaries which is always good. Structure and plot elements seem to be ahead of most of the genre and right up there with some of the best (Flynn, Thor, etc.). I won't hesitate to continue with this series!

Good fun action!

This is book 3 in this series. Again another interesting story well told and could be real.

Wanted to read over 2-3 days but couldn't stop. This author blends people, action and events in an incredible fashion. I may go broke buying his audible books.

great author, great story as usual.

What made the experience of listening to The Last Refuge the most enjoyable?

The premise of a Dewey being around to make the difference makes for a fun read.

What about Peter Hermann’s performance did you like?

Peter expressed emotion (especially anger) with more force than the usual readers

Not as fast paced as the last, but a solid gallop

I quickly became a Ben Coes fan after the first Dewey Andreas book and sadly just completed the third and last (hopefully only for the time being!) This book spoils me for others with all of the action, character development and rich depiction of the world with all of its beauty, danger and flaws. Loved it!

Thoroughly enjoyed every aspect!

Another excellent novel of action an intrigue featuring Dewey Andreas....
If only Audible could distance themselves from politics and not include interviews with Mitt Romney as some sort of literary critic.... completely ruins an otherwise excellent recording....
And yes, as soon as I heard his voice I stopped listening, thank god the recording didn’t start with such trash, otherwise I’d have missed the excellent book despite myself.

Excellent Fast Moving
