one of my all time favorite stories

I loved the characters, the steamy romance and the mystery of the story. just excellent.

Good entertaining story but disappointing narrator

S.L. is an automatic download for me, so I was surprised when I started listening to this book that the narrator wasn't the usual S.L. narrator Simon Prebble, however I thought I would give him a chance. I didn't like his voice and had to put it on double speed in order to listen to the book so if you can do that or just persevere with the narration then the story should not dissappoint. Great characters are involved in a dangerous plot of greed and, as Roscoe and Miranda set out to rescue her brother, they become more and more attracted to each other even tho they know their romance is doomed and cannot go anywhere, they just can't say no. It's a detective/romance as they both try to unravel the mystery of who, what and why.

Worth a credit? Despite the narration I would say Yes but please find another narrator for the next book.

Spectacular Story

All aspects of the book was very well done. Great storyline. Mr Brenher one of best.

Just reread for the second time, enjoyed it even more

One of the things I appreciate most about Stephanie Laurens is her ability to come up with plots that have never been written before and twists that can take you by surprise. Her descriptive powers are great so that even when mundane things are happening you can picture them by the little gestures people are making and the asides they are saying or thinking. The romance scenes are icing on a well written cake.

Loved it!

This was a great read. I liked the fact that the male lead was not your run of the mill elite. Ms Laurens really fleshed out his character. I liked that the female lead was not your run of the mill gently bred woman. She was at a crossroads, recognized it and looked for ways to move ahead. There was a nice twist at the end. The narrator was fabulous.

Great story

I liked everything about this story, the characters, intrigue and humor. Some people said they didn’t like the narrator, but I had no problem with him.

Narrator wrong choice for this book.

I read this in book form....several times and loved the story. Unfortunately, the narrator was the wrong choice. In reading the book, I gave these very strong characters their own voice. Their voices in my head do not match Mr. Brehner's voice. Am returning for credit.

Classic Laurens!!

There is a couple of reviws who don't like Matthew Brenher's narration. Obviously they are new listeners to Stephanies books as he narrates a few of her books. I have listened to better but I would not say he is on the worst scale by any means.

Awesome to have a wee crossover to the Black Cobra Quartet books, albeit a small one. I do love her books and anyone who has read them will as well.

This is a must have to any Laurens fan library.
