About this listen

In a land ruled by armor, the iron man is king.

Jakson the thief holds no love for the throne. His half-brother, the crown prince, hates him. His father, the king, refuses to acknowledge him. He is at home on the streets as a trickster and rogue.

Yet he dreams of knighthood. For armor is power, and the king's knights wield the strongest steel.

A desperate gamble leads Jakson to an otherworldly artifact: armor from another age. His discovery propels him into a deadly game of knights, a game of treachery, violence, and corruption.

Threats arise from beyond the kingdom and from within. Allies emerge from companions old and new. War is coming, but Jakson's true fight is not on the battlefield.

For when knights lie and champions steal, who will trust the honor of a rogue?

Jon Snow is Iron Man in this high tech, high fantasy mashup. Contains emerging sweet harem themes, which means more Robert Jordan, less Terry Goodkind.

Start to a good series

The book kept me interested. I wasn’t sure a book narrated by virtual voice. I’ll say a lot better than I thought. If this is the way authors are heading. I want them to know I am not willing to put out a lot of money. Nor a credit

The destiny of the main character stood out the most.

I liked the main character and the armor. Is all that organic armor repair making it more human or it just revealing secrets? I bought the book a while ago but there are so many I didn't get into it until I bought this virtual voice audiobook.i like the story but I can see why people call it a prequel. The virtual voice works for this. I will be looking for the next book. it looks like there will be a lot of action now that he has ditched the crowd of duds he was attempting to hang out with.

overall good book

virtual voice has wired moments or pronounces words differently some times. The writing was good but I feel like modern was used to much for a medieval setting.

solid alt fantasy read

well written and an interesting detour from your standard fantasy. This is a well executed idea of a simple fantasy premise with a sci-fi twist.
