About this listen
In an alternate timeline, John F. Kennedy goes into acting instead of politics and ends up as captain of the starship Enterprise. But what if history has its own plan for JFK?
This savage satire of American politics and Hollywood egos was written by Star Trek's most notorious scribe, David Gerrold, who also wrote Star Trek's popular "Trouble with Tribbles" episode.

Elvis spent years navigating the wild world of radio as a DJ for hire, working (and partying) in markets around the country before taking over the morning shift at the legendary Z100 in 1996. Over the last 20 years, he has become one of New York City’s signature voices.

The New York Times best-selling biography of an American comedy legend. After three years of sobriety, Chris Farley's life was at its creative peak until a string of professional disappointments chased him back to drugs and alcohol. He fought hard against them, but it was a fight he would lose in December 1997. Farley's fans immediately drew parallels between his death and that of his idol, John Belushi. Without looking deeper, however, many failed to see that Farley was much more than just another Hollywood drug overdose. In this officially authorized oral history, Farley's friends and family remember his work and life.

Story
In 1963, 30-year-old Friedman - who had recently quit his job as a Boston advertising executive and returned to his hometown of New York to become a theatrical producer - opened a coffee house for Broadway performers called the Improvisation. His goal? Simply to make a living, and if all went according to plan, to also make enough professional contacts to be able to mount his first Broadway show within a year's time. Later shortened to the Improv, its first West 44th Street location was in a seedy section of Manhattan's Hell's Kitchen.

Quick Morning Coffee Read
If you are not a fan of Star Trek TOS or Star Trek TNG or don’t know “who killed the Kennedys” or what TOS or TNG mean, don’t waste your money, credit, or time. Too many insider jokes that you will be baffled by or sail right by you. But if you do understand those things, well it’s delightful (but brief)

Intriguing alternate history - Interview form
I saw this title and was intrigued. And for 39 minutes, it gets the job done. Its told via memoir interview with David Gerrold, only an alternate history where the Kennedy's instead of going into politics, went into showbiz. Gerrold was a writer for TOS Star Trek. If you like Star Trek entertainment history, this is a fun little insight, and told from the perspective of someone who was on the inside, but for this little book, he took his scifi writing and applied it to his own experience with some delightful whatifs.
I particularly like the idea that (spoiler (sort of)) Leonard Nimoy went into politics and was lauded by Walter Cronkite as one of the most trusted men in America. Makes me want to explore this alternate timeline more.
It may be strange that as an audiobook narrator, I don't normally listen to books at 1x speed, but often as fast as 2x. But with this only being 39 minutes, I did at 1x. And it was a great and highly believable performance.
Fun little listen. Thanks.
