Rudyard Kipling
The Jungle Book is a series of fables written about wild animals and a boy named Mowgli. Most of the short stories in the collection are about Mowgli, who wanders off into the Indian jungle while being pursued by a vicious tiger, Shere Khan. Shere Khan is lame and cannot catch Mowgli on his first attempt.
As fate would have it, a mother and father grey wolf adopt Mowgli as one of their own before Shere Khan can strike again. Mowgli grows up in the jungle, learning the ways of the animals and believing that he is a wolf as well. He makes friends with a bear and a panther and learns to speak their languages, all the while, Shere Khan is plotting his revenge on what he believes to be stolen goods.

This reader is frustrating to listen to. He gets quiet frequently, often whispering entire phrases. Then he'll all of a sudden start yelling! I'll turn my volume up just so I can hear him, then run out if the room holding my ears because he's yelling again. It's obnoxious to distraction and hurts the stories. Also there are many songs in the book, but he won't sing them, he just reads them. That's disappointing. If you don't want to sing, be a reader for a different book. What's a song without actual singing? I wish I had purchased a different version with someone better. I'm annoyed I spent any money at all with such a terrible reader. I can't imagine anyone would like listening to him. I criticize my kids for reading like he does. He's a professional. It should be better.
