Publisher's summary
In the shadows of Jacobean London, a conspiracy far deeper than gunpowder and treason unfolds. As Guy Fawkes awaits his fate in the Tower, unseen forces pull at the threads of reality itself. The thirty pieces of silver that enticed the betrayal of Christ now scattered across the globe, each coin a power to destroy. Enter Investigator Thomas Blackwood, John Dee, the Queen's own magician, and Christopher Marlowe, playwright and spy, thrust into a quest that will challenge everything they believe. From the mist-shrouded peaks of Glastonbury Tor to the sun-baked deserts of Jerusalem, they race to uncover a truth older than creation.
But they are not alone in their pursuit. A figure cloaked in shadows, orchestrates events from afar. His touch corrupts kings and beggars alike, each move bringing him closer to his ultimate goal. As Thomas, Dee and Marlowe delve deeper, they witness impossible things. Cities appear and vanish in the blink of an eye. Time flows backwards in pockets of London. The very fabric of existence frays at the edges, revealing glimpses of realms beyond mortal comprehension. The Gunpowder Plot, they realize, is merely a smokescreen for a cosmic game of chess. Each exploding barrel, each captured conspirator, serves a greater purpose in a plan millennia in the making. The fate of not just England, but all of creation, hangs in the balance.
In the final confrontation beneath Jerusalem's ancient streets, heaven and hell collide. Reality buckles under the strain as Dee and Marlowe face an adversary older than time itself. The true nature of betrayal, redemption, and the divine plan comes to light in a battle that will reshape the very foundations of the universe.
Will Dee and Marlowe's determination be enough to save existence as we know it? Or will the cosmic forces they've unleashed consume everything in their path? The answer lies hidden in the glint of thirty silver coins, scattered across a world on the brink of unraveling.

Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Story
In the not-too-distant future, a 21-member crew launches from Earth. Their mission: to establish a temporary colony on Mars. Little do they know that colony will become permanent–and the last stand of the human race. Because, without warning, every single person left on Earth simply...vanishes. Story
Ashley Perrin is fresh out of college and starting a job as a community liaison for the Third District–the city’s only sector with more alien residents than humans. Ashley’s barely found where the paper clips are kept when she’s beset with constituent complaints–from too much noise at the Annual Lupidian Celebration Parade to a trip-and-fall chicken to a very particular type of alien hornet that threatens the very city itself. And if that’s not terrifying enough, Ashley is next up at the office karaoke night.

Twists of Betrayal
The Judas Protocol
By Beverly Rachel
Narrated by Peter McGiffen
I received a complimentary copy and am voluntarily leaving my review.
Beverly Rachel's The Judas Protocol is an absolute page-turner that hooks you from the very first chapter and refuses to let go. Set in a world of betrayal and high-stakes intrigue, the story weaves a complex yet tightly written plot that keeps you guessing until the very end. The historically well-known characters are vividly drawn, with motivations as intriguing as the events unfolding around them. The blend of action and psychological depth surrounding the infamous thirty pieces of silver makes for a truly gripping read.
I had the pleasure of experiencing The Judas Protocol as an audiobook, and the narration by Peter McGiffen elevated the story to a whole new level. His voice work is masterful, bringing each character to life with distinct tones and pacing. The tension in his voice during pivotal moments made the twists and turns even more exciting. McGiffen’s narration keeps you on the edge of your seat, perfectly complementing the suspenseful nature of the story.
The plot centres on covert operations and the devastating consequences of betrayal. The way Beverly Rachel builds the tension is nothing short of brilliant, with twists that feel organic and shocking at the same time. There’s a satisfying complexity to the storyline, yet it’s told in a way that never overwhelms the reader.
If you love a tightly woven tale, filled with mystery, betrayal, and action, The Judas Protocol is a must-read (or must-listen)! Beverly Rachel's storytelling combined with Peter McGiffen’s excellent narration makes this audiobook an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended!

Good biblical conspiracy story
The Judas Protocol is an age old story about the quest for absolute power and the forces of good vs. evil. There are real historical character as well as biblical and demonic characters. Seemed a bit redundant and hurried at the end, but the one thing that annoyed me was the constant use of the phase “the game is afoot”. I found that I started to tune the book out and had to bring my attention back. The narrator was very good. I received a free audiobook code for my honest review.

AI drivel…
I’m usually better at seeing an AI written book before I choose it to review, but this one had a very strong premise and and and interesting concept. Sadly, this is very clearly never been edited by a professional or had a beta reader. There are copy and pasted scenes, severely over used phrases, and only famous people are characters. “The very fabric of reality”, “the fate of all creation”, “the game is afoot”, every light is “blinding”… every cliché is used.
The story is all over the place too. They meet other characters ‘for the first time’ at least twice for the angels and demons- each. There are a few others that I won’t mention due to spoilers, but many times something is said and then completely negated or repeated in the next chapter. Any writer who thinks we aren’t going to know? We know…
The only redeeming thing about this book is that the narrator is awesome. He has a great voice and very easy to listen to. I’d listen to him again anytime.
