About this listen

Lorith's magic is fading. Centuries ago, heroic adventurers stopped the World Boss’ cycle of rebirth by reducing the creature to one hit point and sealing it away so no one would ever find it. But, by ending one calamity, they halted the natural flow of magic within the world and brought about the Havoc Plague.

With all civilization now on the brink of collapse, humanity's only hope is to find and kill the World Boss in order to restart the monster's rebirth cycle and bring back magic. When the Plagued janitor Harvey stumbles into a mysterious wreckage and accidentally kills the missing World Boss, he gains a million experience points, making him the target of almost all the would-be adventurers of the world. Burdened with ancient knowledge, and hunted by countless rivals, he must join with unlikely allies to do the unthinkable: find the reincarnated World Boss and defeat it again, before it can ravage the world anew.

Father of Constructs is an optimistic LitRPG novel with a dash of Slice of Life.

Odd leveling style.

I find the way of leveling to be very risky. I mean the likely hood of so few people going after him immediately seems like it would be slim to none. There should be multiple guilds at each stop waiting to get that exp. I mean it’s like fighting a world boss with none of the strengths. Ahh well. What’s next? :)

Loved the book, amazing audio!

*sigh*. This book just filled every sad part in my soul (after causing a couple by the way). I read the ebook when it released last year, but was very excited to see it was coming out on audio too! Harvey is a good man. Good men do good work, as he says, and he works so hard to do good. My son has a hard time reading, but loves to listen to audio. I’ve told him about this one and his sister over heard, and they are both excited to listen to this as we run errands around town!

Please note, I’ve not heard anything read by either of these voice talents before, but many of the voices were spot on for what I was expecting!!

Update, I redownloaded this to listen with the kids and noticed the audio issues are fixed, FYI (4/29/2024)

Another good series

Really enjoying Aaron’s writing. Started with his first series “Resonance”. Had to pick up this one once I saw it. Book one draws in the reader to this new world.

A fresh approach to the genre.

A different type of MC and a fresh approach to the genre. If you are tired of the typical murder hobo, this is a story with excellent world building and a main character that is easy to root for. Looking forward to his progression.

Good story, bad performance

at first I thought I was not going to like the story because I felt bad for the mc, but he developed well, so I am curious how far he goes.

The voice acting tho... he has no reach, the characters all sound the same, goofy or like a child is speaking, even when it's an adult assassin.
The female voice acting is not terrible, but suffers from the same issue of not having any reach and sounding the same all around.
I also learned I am not a fan of dual voice actors.

Overall tho, I will continue to listen to the series because I am curious where it goes.
