A wonderful and touching story.

I enjoyed everything about this story... Believable characters, a bit of humor and a very touching touching story.

I could not stop listening

I loved every moment of the narrative from the sad life lessons to the funny adventures that made me laugh out loud. Thank you Sandy Taylor and narrator Evelyn Dillon for making my heart sing.

Jean Grainger Fans

This is so like the books of Jean Grainger and her fantastic Irish tales, especially given the narrator does many of Jean’s books. Evelyn Dillon is a master narrator. She makes a good book into a great one. I do love this story unto itself. I don't want it to be over.

Love the Irish Tales

I read reviews before I bought the book. I agree with most of them. it was a good story tho I found myself tiring a little of hearing Alice. But it was entertaining and the best part was the narration. What a gift she has. Makes the story come alive and I never get tired of the Irish likt. It did end too abruptly though.

A sweet, heartwarming story with a few twists and turns! The many voices of the characters portrayed by the narrator were wonderful. I ltheoved the Irish brogue

Lots of twists and turns!

The narration was wonderful and easy to listen to. Great story with lots of interesting characters, but I will always wonder why Rose's friend, Polly, offered the job as Nanny. It just makes sense.
Had a great ending I expected but still a good stort

Love hearing this book on audio because the Irish dialogue is wonderful and funny. Great story!

A story of WWII war and love

A great story of a very young Irish lass who grew into womanhood and ended with an enduring love.

Bummer of an ending

A precious story- you really grow to love Rose Brown. But there was wayyyyy too much worship and talk of Alice! I got sick of hearing about her. And the ending was a real let down.

Great story with a great narrator

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book. The author made the characters seem very real snd the narrator did a great job
