About this listen

In the eighth action-packed thriller in the New York Times best-selling Pike Logan series, ISIS, the most maniacal terrorist organization the modern world has ever seen, is poised to make their most audacious strike yet. The United States has anticipated and averted countless attacks from terrorist groups - thanks in large part to the extralegal counterterrorist unit known as the Taskforce. But in The Insider Threat, a much more insidious evil is about to shatter the false sense of safety surrounding civilized nations. While world powers combat ISIS on the battlefield, a different threat is set in motion by the group - one that can't be defeated by an airstrike. Off the radar of every Western intelligence organization, able to penetrate America or any European state, they intend to commit an act of unimaginable barbarity. Only Pike Logan and the Taskforce stand in the way of an attack no one anticipates, a grand deception that will wreak unthinkable chaos and reverberate throughout the Western world.

My first Brad Taylor and loved it

I hadn't listened to the Pike Logan series before but I will definitely be listening to more. What he may lack in descriptive language, he makes up for in a good plot. Killing the Pope made sense for the Islamic State for propaganda. Not sure why it hasn't been done by Thor, Flynn, Clancy etc.The characters were good, but I want more background info. Negative for me was narration. Why 2 people? Do one or the other or have 2 interact! Make a decision!

absolutely Love this series!!!

I love this series. the story line is fast moving and we'll write in my opinion. Pike and Jennifer are developing great together and now that Aaron and "Carrie" are in it.... well it has added a whole alot of depth to the stories.

fun story.

Exciting! Much like other Pike Logan stories. I enjoy the concept of; "let us do evil so good may come."

The Hero I enjoy most is a violent no nonsense man that brings a combination of intelegence, fortitude, improvisation, and pain of vilence. Pike Logan starts me down that path.

I belive he could be more agressive and much more violent of action. It would make a bit better story for me. However that being said he is a Hero I enjoy hearing about, and learing of his exploits and the missions he does.

I recommend this series to those that enjoy quick passed books, to those that require a down and dirty Hero, and to those that believe evil should be fought and not merely hid from.

Pretty good

The endings of the Pike Logan series are always lousy. It's like the writer ran out of time and just ended the story. Could be better.
Stories are entertaining for sure but not realistic. Way too far fetched.

Wonderful thriller novel!

This is the 8th novel in the Pike Logan series. There are also several Pike Logan Novellas. It really should be called the Pike Logan and Jennifer Cahill series. Anyone who likes espionage thrillers will love this series. The Insider Threat is an outstanding novel.

Some people complain about the unusual narration style, but I really like it. The primary narrator is Henry Stozier, but parts of the book are written in first person of the Pike Logan character. Rich Orlow narrates the Pike Logan first person portions of the books.

Misguided

The readers are really good, they make the story flow really well. The characters are well developed. The story is in keeping with typical Brad Taylor books just different locations and different bad guys with a few new concepts, but I enjoy these stories.

The narrator for Pikes character not as good but the characters were developed , fun and the storyline creative. This is my first reading of Pike and his team…kept my attention and I see another Pike novel in my future.
