About this listen

It’s been years since Abby O’Brien Winters set foot in Chesapeake Shores. The Maryland town her father built has too many sad memories, and Abby has too few spare moments - thanks to her demanding Wall Street career, the crumbling of her marriage, and her energetic daughters. Then one panicked phone call from her youngest sister brings her racing back home to protect Jess’ dream of renovating the charming Inn at Eagle Point. But saving the inn from foreclosure means dealing not only with her own fractured family but also with Trace Riley, the man Abby left 10 years ago. Trace can be a roadblock to her plans...or proof that second chances happen in the most unexpected ways.

GREAT BEACH READ!

I loved this book. Characters were realistic and well portrayed by narrator. Story was interesting and unfolded nicely. Ending made Mr feel good. Book was a nice escape ... glad to have found a new author I can enjoy. Will look for more books by Sherryl Woods and hope to find more narrated by Erin Bennett.

Story was good. Narrative..meh

I enjoyed following the family dynamics and I will definitely read the next book in the series. However, the narration was poor because there was no range. All the female voices were the same and all the male voices were the same. Sometimes I had to rewind to know who was speaking.

Sad family mother

Mother left 5 kids and now wants to join their parties? Not something to make a story about. Too cruel.

2nd best narrator

I think this narrator was phenomenal. So many good character voices and great acting skills. Story was better than the show IMO.

If you’re looking for a great summer read this is your book

This is a great summer beach read. Where the story took place is excellent. The author did a great thing with all of the characters. I highly recommend

Sweet and nostalgic romantic novel

I really enjoyed this book! It made me want to go back to Maryland. The characters are all well put together, the story line could have had more excitement but overall a clean, enjoyable romantic novel.

Enjoyed the story

The performance by Erin Bennett was excellent! I enjoyed the plot and story line although i thought the character of Jess was extremely annoying and her outbursts exaggerated. I will listen to the next book in the series!

Even Better Than the Series

I bought this book because I enjoyed watching the series. I had hoped that it would extend the series for me so I could continue to enjoy the Chesapeake Shores and the delightful O’Brien family. Instead, it deepened the experience for me. I highly recommend this book, and I greatly anticipate reading the next story!

A thoroughly enjoyable story

While this book is pretty much recipe card beach read romance, it isn’t cloyingly sweet. There are real characters with real flaws and challenges. If you need to listen to something in the background while driving or working around the house, this is the story for you. I finished it in a weekend, and it didn’t have to “over think” any sections.
Narration was good and matched the characters, with the exception of the child voices, which are notoriously hard to nail…
