The most underrated writer

Gwynne has become my favorite author. His first books were great, but he just gets better and better. There is nothing lacking in any of these books and these last two are amazing

Epic experience, not for all

To start, all books in a series should start as this one does with 10 minutes of prolog rather than trying to integrate the last book or the last 2 books into the 1st 100 pages of the book. The narrator's command of the language and the names is just incredible. This book is really a rollercoaster since it's actually 5 novellas in one book all intertwined. It's a little difficult at the beginning, mama but after the 1st 2 hours it's almost impossible to put down. Just really an enjoyable book can't wait for the next in the series.

Now that you know the characters from the first book this bring them together in an exciting follow up to the first book.

The is pure adrenaline

The last 3 hours of the book make it worth it alone. Our enjoyment and one of the best books I’ve ever listened to. The characters are all immaculate. The story told through different perspectives always gives you just enough before moving to the next. Especially with the pace the story moves.

Action packed is an understatement

This book is relentless with the action and the progression of each character arc. The second book vastly outperforms book 1 which is a statement in of itself. Highly recommend cliffhanger at the end has me chomping at the bit for the third book!

Outstanding

There was no way to guess the end except I knew characters would group together against the dragon. But who would be her allies was the question. The end of the book was a tear jerker although 😢 some characters were not going to make it the ones that do was emotional as well. I look forward to reading the final book. The narrator was outstanding the best I've heard.

Proper Vikingr saga

Everything is amazing. The inspiration from Norse mythology and the way it crafts it’s own world and history is incredible! The characters are well written and heartfelt.
