Roth remained strong
Beautiful writing, humorous and without fear. Roth improved with age. His descriptions of academics were amusing and painful. The narrator was excellent.

One of Roth’s best
Incredible story told so well. The way Roth moves you thru the story is remarkable. The narrator is wonderful as well. A must read!

Brutal Irony
At first it just felt like a normal depressing Phillip Roth book, but the secrets and the incredible irony of the whole situation made it feel more like Bonfire of the Vanities. This is my favorite Roth novel.
