About this listen

Amworth College, Connecticut - a place where the gates between our world and the Land of Faerie are thin and crumbling, a place where horrors really do lurk in the shadows, and evils in the gardens. A place where the fates of worlds really does hide within the brushstrokes of a forgotten painting. The House Across the Way is a dark fantasy novel by the World Fantasy Award-winning author of Throne of Bones.

Clever and Confusing

Devotees of Hastur and The King in Yellow will likely appreciate this weird, topsy turvy book. It may take multiple listens to understand the disjointed narrative, but I feel it is worth the investment of attention. while not as good as Throne of Bones, it is still great writing. WHY THE AUDIOBOOK COVER ART SAYS, "HOUSE ON THE BORDERLAND", MAKES NO SENSE, THOUGH!

Challenging but most rewarding.

It's a challenging book, that will test your memory and attention but it's most rewarding when you finally put things together and follow the story.

Not worth it

The best reader was reading this book and he just couldn't save it. I listed to the whole thing and I'm still not totally sure what was going on.
