About this listen

Could the sudden death of Sir Charles Baskerville have been caused by the gigantic ghostly hound that is said to have haunted his family for generations?

Arch-rationalist Sherlock Holmes characteristically dismisses the theory as nonsense. Claiming to be immersed in another case, he sends Watson to Devon to protect the Baskerville heir and to observe the suspects at close hand.

Critic reviews

"Arguably both the best Sherlock Holmes story in the canon and one of the classic all-time mystery novels." (School Library Journal)

Great Mystery

I read the book as a teenager and love it. This version was just as great. I have listened to the narrator in other books and he is very good to switch voices between characters. It you like Conan Doyle then this is a great read.

An entertaining adventure

If you like David Case (a.k.a. Frederick Davidson), you'll like this one. If you don't, you won't. I find him entertaining even when he's at his most over the top, and I thoroughly enjoyed this version of the story.
