About this listen

Twenty-nine-year-old workaholic Libby Dewitt lives by the motto "if you fail to plan, you plan to fail." She's finally about to start her dream life with her steady-as-a-rock fiance, Richard Tomy. Together, they're the perfect power couple - right down to the fact that he's agreed to use their honeymoon to help further her career in mergers and acquisitions. But 10 minutes before the wedding, her dreams dissolve via text message.

Devastated and humiliated, Libby escapes to Paradise Bay alone. She's got two goals for her trip: to devise a plan to get Richard back and to convince resort owner Harrison Banks to sell his property to her company. Unfortunately, when she arrives, she discovers that tall, dark, and built, Harrison is not about to make anything easy for her.

Instead, he derails her plans while at the same time, bringing out a side of Libby she's kept carefully tucked away-a carefree, adrenaline junkie. After a few days together, Harrison's got her wondering if the life she always wanted was meant for some other girl. Suddenly, Libby must decide which version of herself she wants to be.

Contains mature themes.

Left at the Alter RomCom

If you need a good pick up in a way to get away from real life drama, these are the books that you go to. I absolutely love the comedy the romance everything about these types of books. It was just so happy and upbeat. I’m so glad there are books still made like this one

Good!

Incredibly typical story, except the main characters are actually fun. The MFC is a wonderful person, who isn’t rich. That’s important, since rich people are all evil and should be destroyed.

Ugh

Predictable. Felt their relationship was not well developed at the point they became intimate. At times the plot felt choppy.

Slow start, funny story

I generally liked the story, the characters were generally believable... progress didn't seem rushed, or abrupt...
What annoyed me was two fold. I think I would have liked it better in book format. the narration was distracting.
The male narrato, while he did a wonderful Job and his accents were great, he sounded like Cary Elwes. Like now, not when he was Wesley in The Princess Bride, or Robin Hood... so I think the voice didn't quite match the character.
The female narrator I generally liked, but her accents were atrocious. Her attempt at Caribbean English sounded like a mixture of an old Indian woman and some vaguely German/French accent.

overall- enjoyable story, not much unnecessary angst.

enjoyable

although lately I have been not finishing several books because they are boring, I found this one engaging and I stayed remaining with it. I also appreciated the fact that the sex scenes were implied behind the closed door and not explicit. I will say that I had to look up to confirm that possums are living in the Caribbean, and was actually semi-pleased that they actually followed through to form on that. although I've had enough experience with a possums that even when when they faint and fall over I would not pick them up

This book made me happy!

I really enjoyed this book!! The narrators/performers were very good and the characters were likable. There comes a time towards the end, like with many books which involve romance, in which things start to look grim. I HATE THAT! In fact, i stopped listening for a bit and then went back to skip chapters ahead to make sure it ended well. LOL!! Then I went back and listened from the point that i left off. I don't think I've ever done that before> I appreciated the humor in this book. I laughed and looked forward to the times when I could listen. I'd recommend it for a light and happy, funny read.
