Publisher's summary
There was nothing extraordinary about Amanda Burrage's life. Working in a library by day and helping out at a homeless shelter a few evenings a week was a lonely existence, but within a few hours, it was going to be an existence that would be lost to her forever!
Her life was about to be turned upside down, as she would find herself walking into a storm that would open her mind to a world which belonged on the pages of books and bad horror movies. She was also about to discover that she was part of a group called The Hidden!
Thrust into a world of horror and the supernatural, where figures that should have belonged in the world of fantasy and the paranormal, had appeared, to take her in order manipulate the gifts that she possessed for their own ends. Gifts that she had been completely unaware of.
The jackels from The Faction had come first, and they would have claimed her if it hadn't been for the appearance of Fenris Lyall, a tall, silent, and mysterious stranger. This giant of a man had stopped her from being taken by the shifters. It was only later that she was to discover that Fenris was a Lycan, or werewolf as she called him. However what she didn't know was that Fenris was not just an ordinary werewolf. He had no pack, but was a lone alpha, who had kept himself hidden for centuries. The Faction were unaware of his existence, but if they discovered that there was a werewolf such as Fenris walking this world, they would turn their vast resources towards ending his existence.
There are werewolves, and there is Fenris Lyall. A being who stands far above his own kind. A being who's ruthlessness and savagery knows few bounds. A being who has reveled in death as far back as he can remember. A being who is now in conflict with himself as he starts realizing, much to his dismay, that he is beginning to see the birth of a conscience!

Story
Ashley Perrin is fresh out of college and starting a job as a community liaison for the Third District–the city’s only sector with more alien residents than humans. Ashley’s barely found where the paper clips are kept when she’s beset with constituent complaints–from too much noise at the Annual Lupidian Celebration Parade to a trip-and-fall chicken to a very particular type of alien hornet that threatens the very city itself. And if that’s not terrifying enough, Ashley is next up at the office karaoke night.

Story
In the not-too-distant future, a 21-member crew launches from Earth. Their mission: to establish a temporary colony on Mars. Little do they know that colony will become permanent–and the last stand of the human race. Because, without warning, every single person left on Earth simply...vanishes. Now, a thousand years later, the resources needed to sustain life are running out, and the very existence of the Mars colony is threatened. Humankind has only one option–to return to its home planet.

Bought on a lark but really enjoyed
This isn’t the typical book I read. I purchased it on a lark. I was drawn into the story. I like the characters and the unveiling. Wish the next story was available as I would have purchase it immediately. Only draw back for the audible version is that the narrator’s tone threw me into a bygone year so it was a bit of a mismatch for the present time period.

A Good Story!
Amanda helps out at the local soup kitchen. She lives alone with her cat and otherwise seems to have a very boring existence until she meets a Lycan that changes everything. She's an empath and there's people after her. The Lycan takes it on himself to help her escape the madness and get away safely but around every turn is danger until the very end.
The story wasn't quite complete to me but then again it's a series. Maybe more light on why or who is chasing her. The action is great and the book is safe for any ages. The suspense factor is medium, not edge of the seat but curiosity piquing. I thought the end was cute, although, I'd expected it for quite some time. Either way it was still fun.
A good story.

Awesome Book!
This book is awesome! I only wish it would have been longer. I would suggest the author find a better narrator. While Sarah Terry does a good job with the female character, her attempts at a male character fall far short. I understand that Fenris' character is supposed to be gruff, I still did not like her portrayal. In fact, I did not like her portrayal of any of the male characters.

Desperately needs an editor
The tale could be engaging, but appears to be a first attempt or a first draft. Improperly used words, trite phrasing, and redundancy detract from the story.
