About this listen

After a night of drunken debauchery following the defeat of the academy's headmistress, Lucas awakens to trouble on all fronts. The steady balance of power within the Imperium has been shaken by his presence, and the resulting aftermath is a town full of heavily armed and well-staffed enemies that seek Lucas' death. Lucas must not only survive their assault but also manage his own slowly crumbling internal affairs when his party begins to fracture. Angered by Lucas' increasingly selfish actions, some of his closest allies are tempted to turn against him.

Follow our protagonist while he tries to grow his influence within the empire, survive the daggers in his back from Imperium traitors, and restore the relationship he truly wants with the woman he has slowly fallen in love with in this epic litrpg adventure from Charles Dean.

one of my favorites

I started this series thinking it was going to be weird. I enjoyed every chapter, the character development, every aspect of it was fun. I want more of it, I wish this wasn't the end. The end of a series is like parting ways with a good friend. I will come back to them but it can't be like the first time we hung out. I do however want to say this series was a fun ride.

A grand ending to a phenomenal story!

The production value continues to be mind blowing! Charles continues to build on his great world, and develops the characters in a natural and organic way. Nothing ever feels forced or awkward, with everything playing out in a satisfying way. I recommend checking out the War Aeternus series for anyone who hasn't read it, as it ties into this series.

Ending lack luster

As usual an excellent book and addition to the Heroic Villain series. I would definitely spend a credit on it to complete the series.

The only problem is the ending, it felt rushed and not really thought out. Honestly when it happened I was surprised as the characters were still involved in things and I expected a good few more hours to the book. The author did attempt to finalize lose ends but like I said it just didn’t come together.

That all being said, still worth a credit to finish the series but not a good example of Charles Deans normal work

The Heroic Ending

I was hooked on this book from the second it started. Once again Charles Dean created a fantastic universe and gave a very satisfying ending to an epic trilogy. Of course there was an amazing performance from Jeff Hays, Annie Ellicott and Justin Thomas James. If you have read Charles’ other books and liked them then I am sure you will love this one.
