Story
Looking back with wiser eyes now, my family and I concluded that the events leading up to my transformation started during the summer I turned nine. But the day we realized there was a problem - and there was no turning back - was a week before I started my senior year at Junction City High. That was the day the fangs and claws appeared, and the monster inside me emerged. When mutilated corpses appeared near a pile of brush down by Caney Creek, everything changed.

Story
When Vivien Walker left her home in the Mississippi Delta, she swore never to go back, as generations of the women in her family had. But in the spring, nine years to the day since she'd left, that's exactly what happens - Vivien returns, fleeing from a broken marriage and her lost dreams for children. What she hopes to find is solace with "Bootsie", her dear grandmother who raised her, a Walker woman with a knack for making everything all right. Publisher's summary
A legacy of magic and danger.
All Danielle Bowen wants is a normal life: white picket fence, kids in the nursery, and peace and quiet with her husband Simon. But she can't escape the fate her family has wrought for her. Born into a tradition of witchcraft, she has also inherited a deadly enemy: Toxanna, a dark witch who will stop at nothing to destroy the last of the Bowen line.
But will Danielle's powers be enough to save her family - or even herself? And when Toxanna sets her sights on Holly, Danielle's only daughter, will anyone have the strength to rescue the newly fledged witch? The darkness is closing around the last of the Bowens. In a world of wizards and powerful demons, how can one family of witches survive?
Bound:
(Exclusive to the Deluxe Edition of The Harvest Moon)
Orphaned by the shocking murder of both his parents, 13-year-old Drew must conceal his magical powers as he navigates the foster care system. But it might be easier for a young wizard to control his cracking voice than his magic. When one of Drew's spells attracts the attention of a local coven called the Fire Wizards, Drew sees his chance to solve the mystery of who killed his parents with the coven's help.
There's just one catch: once you enter the coven, you're bound for life. And the more involved Drew becomes with the Fire Wizards, the faster his façade of safety crumbles. Can he find justice for his parents without binding himself to a world of magical peril?

You fight for your family no matter what
My second read/listen from David Neth.
I'm going deep in the witchcraft community, this is how this author writing lets me in, it's so easy.
I met some characters I've really enjoyed. I like the way the story is written. Makes you relate to some of our strengths and weaknesses. It's like they could survive in a normal life, they could be my neighbor friends :) and I'd love to help them.
I liked how Danielle and Simon met and how they interact together and try to survive
this menacing take on their family.
I wish Holly and Drew well in whatever relation they might possibly have.
I also loved Toxanna's name and evilness. no matter what family you're born, what side you're on, you fight to survive. Great character.
Seeking justice in this dark world it's hard, but I still have hope.
I've enjoyed this adventure! Ready for another :)

Will this be the END of the BOWEN BLOOD LINE?
What did you love best about The Harvest Moon?
I loved the strength of the female characters. The Bowen females never gave up and tried to protect their families till they were killed and Toxanna's darkness to fullfill her promise! I also loved the love story/relationships of Danielle and Simon and Holly and Drew, (if possible for them to have a real realtionship) considering cliff hanger!!!!
Who was your favorite character and why?
Not sure I can really pick 1 favorite character. I really liked Danielle and Simon and Holly and Drew, for their Love stories/relationships with each other. I also liked Toxanna and all her evilness. I enjoyed her description.
Which character – as performed by Nathan Weiland – was your favorite?
My favorite character performed by Nathan Weiland would have to be the make leads of Simon and Drew.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Will Good persevere, or will Evil win this one!

WITCH Way Will It End?
Not quite sure how to write this review. I know one thing, you never can guess what's going to happen next. Mr Neth is killing me with his unpredictability, which is good, but I can't hardly stand the suspense. The narrator is very good with this series. This was so different from the first book. At first, you will think you have them out of order. But you don't, it all ties back in. I found myself feeling every emotion possible. Anger, sadness, joy, heartbreak, and for a little while I was hoping some great romance. Lol. There were times I wanted to strangle Holly. But mainly, she is a great character. Her first event with her magic was so funny. I was laughing so hard. And there were times, if Mr Neth would've been present, I would've thrown my tablet at him! Why? Why does he have to do some of the things he does?! But I guess all the emotions this creates is what makes it such a great series. And certainly, a great complex world. I mean the 'complex' part in a good way.

Harvest Moon
I received a free audio copy of this book to write a review.
Danielle flees the traveling circus the night that her parents are killed by "Toxanna". An evil witch that has made it her goal to wipe out Danielle's family. This books tells the story of Danielle's family as she continuous runs and hides from Toxanna while trying to find a way to defeat her and remove the curse.
This is the second book in the series. It does well as a stand alone book. I have not read the first book so I don't know how the two tie together.
I was not impressed with the ending which will lead into book 3 but did enjoy the book overall and will definitely read/ listen to more from the author and narrator.

good
my 13 year old really liked it, but I thought it was just good. just a few little writing flaws bugged me. for example, if you say yes with out speaking you nod not shake your head. just little things like that. I felt like it was multiple books in one. after a main character dies it starts another book. too much death. I also thought that it didn't really go anywhere.

Four Generation of Bowen Witches
The Harvest Moon is the second book of the Under the Moon series. In this book, it covers three generation of the Bowen women of witches from the moment the first Bowen woman, Pamela crossed path with Toxanna, a dark witch. Pamela took Toxanna's ability to bind her victims to an unfair contract.
From that moment, Toxanna vowed to end the Bowen line. Pamela was the only survivor of her generation. With the Bowen family being a carni, Pamela's family was able to escape Toxanna by never remaining in a location for too long. Toxanna was never too far behind the Bowen family.
Danielle was able to escape Toxanna's onslaught. Now she has to save her husband Simon and their expecting baby girl Holly. It is up to Danielle to make her stand against Toxanna.
Bound is an story that tells what happens between The Harvest Moon and The Blood Moon. Bound introduce the Fire Wizard Drew and his role in helping the fourth generation Bowen witch. This deluxe edition of The Harvest Moon answers several questions of what transpired between the second and third book in this series.
This series is perfect for teens and adults who enjoy reading about magic.
The narrator Nathan Weil does a very good job of narrating the story. I have only one complaint is that Drew sounds more of an adult than a nineteen years old. If the story didn't state Drew's age, listeners would have thought that Drew is a grown-up.
I was given this audiobook by the author in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated or influenced in any way for writing this review.

ignorance is bliss
We start with the story the family of carnies which happens to be magical. The story itself ranges from the 1930s to the present and dips back in time by reference to indicate how long the Bowen family has been in existence. This story encompasses four generations and, although at a place of logical conclusion, ends in a definite cliffhanger. Witches and darker beings are all real but hidden from the non-magical world.
The narrator does a superb job of vocal characterizations and as you focus on your other tasks while listening, you are swept into the drama and away from your chores.
