About this listen

Welcome back to Briar U!
Discover the next generation in this icy-hot spin-off series from The Queen of Hockey Romance, Elle Kennedy!

Listen to The Graham Effect now for the perfect grumpy x sunshine romance!

Hockey's golden girl just made a deal with the bad boy . . .

Gigi Graham has exactly three goals: qualify for the women's national hockey team, win Olympic gold, and step out of her famous father's shadow. So far, so good, except for two little things. Fine - a little thing and a big, grumpy thing. She needs to improve her game behind the net, and she needs help from Luke Ryder.

Ryder is six-foot five, built, opinionated, rude . . . and sexy as hell. But he's still the enemy.

Briar's new hockey co-captain has his reasons, though. The men's team just merged with a rival program, leaving Ryder with an angry roster where everyone hates one another's guts. To make matters worse, the summer coaching spot he's angling for with the legendary Garrett Graham is out of reach after he makes the worst possible first impression on his hero. So, really, this compromise with Gigi is win-win. He helps her make the national team, she puts in a good word with her dad.

The only potential snag? This bone-deep, body-numbing, mind-spinning chemistry they're trying to ignore. It's a dangerous game they're playing, but the risks just might be worth it.

Critic reviews

'Utterly adorable, completely charming, and sexy as hell, The Graham Effect has everything you'd want in a college romance - a grumpy/sunshine pairing, a very steamy 'steam room' scene, and a hockey-playing heroine!' Meghan Quinn

'Sexy hockey player? Check! Brand new series from Elle Kennedy? Check! The Graham Effect is a sexy, fun, delicious read, don't miss it!' Jill Shalvis

'The Graham Effect is peak Elle Kennedy writing - magnetic banter, intoxicating chemistry, and plenty of spice. I devoured this book in one sitting' K.A. Tucker

Good book

Overtall, I really enjoyed this book.
It was both funny and emotionally gripping, amazing characters that I already loved and was invested in as well as new and interesting ones that I fell in love with.

It made me both tear up and laugh out loud while listening and that’s always good!

The ending felt a bit rushed, but it was still a good listen that gripped me enough tho listen to the book in two days.

Personally I like more action, and thrilling stuff, but this book is more romantic and cozy. The cemetery between the characters were good and gripping. It’s definitely a book that fits for fall and Christmas.

Love it

The end of the book seemed to go a bit too fast for my liking but I love every book in this universe!

Excellent.

No drama, very good college sport romance, brings back the good memories from reading Off-Campus series.

The next generation of the Off Campus series? Count me in!

As I expected, there were swoony moments in and moments that I laughed out loud.. moments with deep emotional drama and great spice.
I especially liked the parts with her dad (duh) and even Logan and Dean dropped in to visit! 😍

But to be honest, as someone who loves the Off Campus series so much, I expected more from this book... most of it was quite boring... and still, it was SO long, TOO long, for no reason!!! 🙈

📚 "Always. You fall, I pick you up. Always." 📚

All in all, it was nice to read about the next generation and meet the familiar and beloved characters again, but it is not a book that left a mark on me, like the original series. 🧡

• I listened to the audiobook, which was great.
