About this listen
The US ambassador to China is killed in a suspicious plane crash just days after a news article links Chinese spies to US business interests. The American intelligence community is left scrambling to investigate possible connections between the crash and a series of other high-profile deaths.
On the other side of the world, ex-CIA operative Kera Mersal returns to the United States determined to clear her name after being branded a traitor for exposing illegal government surveillance. There, former colleague and fellow fugitive J. D. Jones contacts her with a new assignment: find out who is staging accidents to murder news sources. As the news site continues to publish stories about top-secret CIA programs and Chinese government corruption, Mersal reunites with old allies to uncover the truth and prove her loyalty to her country once and for all. But Mersal's investigations put her on the trail of a sinister hacker whose own motives may influence a vaster - and more deadly - geopolitical conspiracy than either of the world's two largest superpowers is prepared to handle.

In David Ignatius' gripping new novel, spies don' t bother to steal information...they change it, permanently and invisibly. Graham Weber has been director of the CIA for less than a week when a Swiss kid in a dirty T-shirt walks into the American consulate in Hamburg and says the agency has been hacked, and he has a list of agents' names to prove it. This is the moment a CIA director most dreads. Weber isn' t sure where to turn until he meets a charismatic (and unstable) young man named James Morris who runs the Internet Operations Center.

From its first moments, Hunter takes you on a nonstop thrill ride: from the top floor of the CIA, to the marbled corridors of Capitol Hill...from the posh hotels of downtown Washington, to the city's mean, violent streets. It introduces a colorful new hero for our time - and a dazzling heroine every bit his equal. A spy mystery...a crime thriller...a passionate romance: Hunter is a genre-bending novel unlike any you've read. Deviously plotted, filled with vivid characters, and propelled at a breakneck pace.

"Technology To Be Feared"
If you could sum up The Good Traitor in three words, what would they be?
Fast paced mystery. Use new 1.25x speed if you want the fast action author intended
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Good Traitor?
when Conrad gets into the elevator. This author needs a bit better editing, but ms Dawe pulled it off with her great reading voice. Great imagination of author's part, but needs to keep the reader for sequels.
What does Angela Dawe bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I am a hugh fan of Ms Dawe and that is why I purchased this new author for me. Her male voices are too die for. See Tiffany Snow series or the MacGregor series from Nora Roberts. Yum

Suspense and Intrigue
I really enjoy reading books that bring together current technology news with relatable characters. The Good Traitor does an excellent job weaving together Kera's experiences into a suspenseful and intriguing storyline. Couldn't wait to listen to this anticipated follow up to End of Secrets and couldn't stop listening once I started. Now I can't wait for the next in the series....

Story not so good. Narration excellent.
Wow this story was a struggle to get through.
There is zero character development, especially for the so-called main character Kera. There were many random characters just thrown in making you stop and say "who the heck is this person and where did they come from".
Where is the mystery and intrigue? The story was so confusing and convoluted. Terrible writing IMO. This book was missing so many elements to potentially being a good book.
Kera is a Traitor. For what??????????? you don't even find that out until so far in the book and there is no back story.
I can say the only character I actually liked was Angela Vasser. She is the only character that had any development at all.
As for the narration, it was great. That is the only thing that kept me listening.
Sorry to say I cannot recommend this book at all, ever.
