About this listen

God sees everything...but who’s watching him?

The time period in which these events took place is not disclosed. Five very talented and ambitious scientists asked themselves an age-old question: Where do our souls go after we die? The question was posed, not in the esoteric sense, but in a geographical one. They committed themselves to find out the exact physical locations of “Heaven and Hell”.

However, their research gave them more than they bargained for. What you’re about to experience is a dramatic departure from the norms of science fiction and popular faith-based understandings. The God Maps is the first book written by new author Yvette Kendall, and she delves into the clockworks of the afterworld by means of creative and disruptive scientific experiments.

The mediums that the laboratory operates in are not bound by moral limitations until the line is drawn for them by opposing forces. Located in the sub-level of a well-known Ivy League university, the lab is run by Ameerah Mahar, a seasoned cryptologist, who is joined by four other accredited scientists that create the fringe science team of Lab-J71. Their ultimate goal is to unlock the mysteries of life, death, and God’s reality on a more tangible scale.

Their research and experiments have opened the Universe to the likes which have never been seen or heard of before. What we once had to wait for can be experienced right now, in real-time, and with their own eyes. Science can fill the gaps in extraordinary ways if you know how to use it! The innovative scientific processes that the team has developed will not only earn them a place in the history books, but the implications of their findings will undoubtedly garner them a revised spot in the good book as well!

A THOUGHT-PROVOKING & HIGHLY RECOMMENDED READ!

It’s been a long time since I read a book that demanded Controversy! It took me just under a week to read it ( I read and then listened to the audiobook) and I devoured every page! Perhaps it's because I saw a glimpses of my favorite shows like Supernatural and The X-Files peppered throughout the chapters or maybe it’s because I actually enjoyed Kendall's writing. I found her writing style engaging. I didn’t read looking for faults or comparisons, I read expecting dialogue worthy of the title and I found just that! The inside flap indicated that The GOD maps is part of a trilogy, I can assure you that after reading it, I will be coming back for volumes 2 & 3!

The main character Dr. Ameerah Mahar finds herself in places and spaces she should not be in, and struggles with it all in the name of science. Her dedicated team has no problem following her to the ends of the Earth and back (literally). So much of the writing offers you a deeper look into who we and how we are made as humans. This excerpt, in particular, gave me much to ponder on.

“Fingerprints may definitely have a higher purpose, these recent communications have offered some shocking news to the team. Not only does our fingerprints have corresponding points, that intersects with the wave patterns of our brain’s gray matter; fingerprints contain embedded coding. The patterns and ridges have data much like a vinyl record album. Given the proper apparatus, vital information can be revealed that may unlock untold knowledge. Possibly the purpose of one’s life path, to the exact date of their death. Each one of us has specialized encrypted hieroglyphics that are scored onto our fingertips and toes.

Speaking of a record album, the team took the research one step further and mapped the grooves in each of their fingerprints. They fashioned a laser that ran in the recesses of each groove, to read the exact depths and contours; then they assigned musical notes to their maps. The short but beautiful songs were overwhelming. Just to know that our humanism has theme music, makes our creation no happenstance…we are an intricate design with a purpose.

This also reminds us that in the Bible, and especially the Quran, scripture requires that you be barefoot when praying or in the presence of God. To be conservative, they require that you not wear shoes on sacred ground. However, knowing that socks are a more modern-day invention, stating “bare feet” makes more sense. Posturing in the right place with bare hands and bare feet may be paramount to the great unlocking. There is much more learning to be done, but what a great find to know that our digits may be the key!”

Revelations found in the book are bound to spark religious debates far and wide. This is a riveting, non-stop tale, that will keep you engaged (unless you are pretentious). Yeah, it gets a little extra, but I’m here for it! If you swear by the mystical and the incredibly unknown, this title will do you just fine.

Kendall does clear up concerns that we all have as a species with accountable souls. Not to worry, I won’t spoil anything for you here, however, I would’ve liked her to shed some light on where she thinks we (humans) may have come from? At times, I had to remind myself that, “It’s just fiction”. If the team’s research could ever be proven factual and functional in real life, it would be an unquestionably earthshaking and mind-blowing fiasco!

The God Maps is absolute fun and I have become a fan of this author’s work. While I’m not familiar with Biblical Futurism, I believe this book and genre can easily stand up to the Stephen Kings, Dan Browns that we know and love. As always, Peace and Love. Last but not least, I implore you to “Make books and not war!”

Amazing Read

This book blew my mind. It challenged my beliefs on the after life and also gave my imagination the permission to run wild. There are so many interesting theories and hidden gems- it’s truly one of the best books I’ve read in a long time. I plan to read it again lol just to dissect and discuss some of the things I read with my family and friends. Can’t wait for book 2!

Clearly...I loved this book! Volume 2 please!

The GOD Maps worked absolutely great as a standalone, please do not listen to The GOD Maps without reading the book first because so much clarity is printed on the pages. Kendall takes the time to painstakingly build a realistic foundation to support the Universe on. Her excellently crafted foundation planted seeds necessary to expand her universe even further. I really don’t want to spoil anything from the book so I’ll refrain from talking about the main plot and I’ll keep this review as concise and helpful as possible.

Her story is told with a multi-styled platform. Meaning that the feel of the book changes as you go along, eventually converging wonderfully closer to the end of the book. The story is mostly framed in a third-person past-tense narration, and does bob and weave with the Present time frame that is being told in the third-person present tense. The two timelines complement each other greatly in telling a thought-provoking story about science, discovery, and religious beliefs.

I’ve read a lot of Science Fiction books and The GOD Maps stands among some of the most original novels about human expectations beyond the flesh. In this way, it was something that I truly appreciated and I loved reading the detailed exposition of how the events unfolded. As much as I loved how smartly crafted this book was, the heavy emphasis on science and innovation did slow down the pacing a bit at a few points of the book.

The author did a good job of trying to balance information with dialogue and action. The pacing worked for me once I discovered that this book is meant to be more thought compelling than explosions and car chases. The world-building was stunning. Once again, I’m amazed by Kendall’s creativity and intricacy in creating this sci-fi series that’s well-researched and believable. Admittedly, I did read the book before hand. Personally I think it gave so much more than the audiobook. Even in that, the conclusion ‘WOWED’ me both times! When you reach the end, the impact shakes you every time! Believe me, I know this novel will be a hit for you.

Overall, The GOD Maps is a great read/listen. I still think that this is a must-read for anyone fond of unique takes on the afterlife, Heaven and Hell. It feels good to read a sci-fi story that’s incredibly inventive and audacious in its theme but not lacking in intrigue; that’s exactly what’s being provided with this first offering.

BRILLIANT THE GOD MAPS SHOULD BE REQUIRED READING!

I was gifted the Ebook of this story several months ago and loved every minute of the book. Then I heard that the author was making an audiobook, I was super excited! The narrator's voice gives you a whole different depth on the book. Bringing the characters to life in a way that my imagination couldn't. Especially Scilectra and the Professor, they were the most complexed characters to digest but not to leave out the heroine Ameerah (she's awesome!). On the other side of it, listening to it. First it read like a book, then a graphic novel, and then a fabulous mixture of scifi with religious overtones! I fell asleep that night with strange dreams and a couple of nightmares and that never really happens to me. The voice and the content stays with you for the long haul, even days after! It's just so real. It got a little theatrical in some places (but I loved that too!), so reading along and listening made the trip even better. I definitely will be giving this as a gift to a scifi lover. Whatever this new Biblical Futurism genre is, it's a winner!

The envelope has been pushed.

This is what I love about science fiction, anything is possible! These characters did somethings that I hope science does not have a way to do. Its scary what they came up with. It makes you think about what else is going on behind the closed doors of research facilities. Very good. If you not into science books, you might need to slow it down/pause/and rewind. I like sci fi and i still was like, let me back it up just one more time lol! Keep your ears open because you're gonna hear things you've never heard before.

EXCELLENT STORY EXECUTION.

There's much to love about this book but the one thing that I enjoyed /above all others/ is that the author blessed us with a musical playlist for her story. If you know music, you'll find some top notch lyrics all through the story. The God Maps is layered with entertainment and sparks your mind's eye to look inward for the better things. A big thumbs up from me.

Exciting Book

I am not a huge fan of Science Fiction books and I decided to take a chance on this one. It was an excellent decision for me because I enjoyed listening and imagining all of the scenes throughout this book. I also appreciated the author's creativity and imagination to put this story into words. In addition to that, the narrator has a commanding voice that kept my attention throughout the story.
I am looking forward to the next volumes of The God Maps.
