A Love Story With Layers
This book was such an intriguing read. When I thought I knew where the story was going it totally flipped, especially because the writing drew me in. I’ve been having issues lately with some books where a character does something completely out of character, so I was grateful that I believed all of the choices that everyone made and I cared about them. Off to the next in the series!

Amazing heart touching story
Very impressed at how the author wrote this! Great story with just enough intimacy to draw you in but not take over the storyline. Definitely going to be reading more of his works!

Great Story but Rough narration
Jonathan Ferrera's debut in The Ghost of Buxton Manor series is nothing short of extraordinary. Aptly named after the series, the novel takes readers on an emotional rollercoaster that they won't soon forget. Ferrera proves himself to be a master storyteller, crafting compelling characters with rich and captivating backstories. One of the most poignant aspects of the book is Rupert Buxton's journey, both as a ghost and as a human. Drawing inspiration from real-life figures Michael Llewelyn Davies and Rupert Erroll Victor Buxton, Ferrera weaves a beautiful and tragic tale that pays homage to their legacies.
The atmospheric qualities of the novel are truly striking. Ferrera excels at creating a vivid sense of place, transporting readers to the hauntingly beautiful landscape of Buxton Manor and its surroundings. Paying homage to the Gothic genre. This attention to detail enhances the immersive experience of the story, allowing readers to fully immerse themselves in the world Ferrera has created.
Delving deeper into the themes explored in the book, we find a rich tapestry of ideas that add depth to the narrative. Themes of love, loss, and the passage of time are skillfully woven throughout the story, offering readers much to ponder long after they've turned the final page. The dynamics between the characters are equally compelling. From the tender romance between Rupert and his love interest to the complex relationships he shares with the other inhabitants of Buxton Manor.
Ferrera deftly navigates the intricacies of human connection, drawing readers into the heart of the story. In terms of pacing and structure, Ferrera maintains a steady rhythm that keeps readers engaged from start to finish. The alternating timelines and perspectives add layers of complexity to the narrative, while the well-paced plot unfolds with just the right amount of suspense and intrigue.
Ferrera's writing style is both lyrical and poetic, infusing the story with a sense of beauty and melancholy that lingers long after the final page. His prose is at once elegant and accessible, striking the perfect balance between evocative imagery and clear, concise storytelling. Ultimately, The Ghost of Buxton Manor is a novel that leaves a lasting impact on its readers. It provokes thought, inspires empathy, and encourages introspection, inviting readers to reflect on the nature of love, loss, and the enduring power of memory. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a poignant and moving read.
