At eight, Sean Connery saved him from drowning. At sixteen, he got kicked out of boarding school, ending his institutional education for good. Tribute to an interesting family

This book was sad and funny. It was interesting to get a glimpse into lives of people whom I’d known in other contexts from tv, movies, and features in Vanity Fair. Griffin Dunne’s narration was excellent.

He tells it all, until he doesn’t…

Sometimes it was too graphic for me in all its detail, but he certainly kept it real. I enjoyed learning all the connections in his family which surely increased my knowledge, not just of the Dunne family but of Hollywood history. However, I want the second half!

Unputdownable. All the Dunne family talent and drama in Grifgins wonderful reading.

Very interesting dysfunctional hollywood family no-holds-barred book as told by the survivor. His literary voice carries the Dunne and Didion legacy. Very personal and very emotional but never self serving. Thoroughly worth a listen.

I didn’t know who the Dunne family was when I started and thoroughly enjoyed the memoir anyway.

Enjoyed his narration. My heart broke for him at the same time. Loved hearing his connection to so many famous people and enjoyed hearing what felt like some insider info.
