Mostly Good 3.5

I had a hard time getting into this book at first. I think it took about 16 chapters before I figured out the characters and what was going on. Then most of the book after that was really good. The author had me guessing until the very end. I did not like that there were a few questions that remained unanswered and I was really disappointed about that. Altogether not bad though.

It kept me guessing

Loved this book! Always kept me guessing and I found myself excited for the next chance I could get to listen.

End was not surprising

A pretty good story but stereotypical characters. I don’t like narratives that jump back and forth in time. Better to let the reader discover it through exposition. Reader was ok but I had trouble distinguishing among characters.

There needs to be a prequel!

Great book but still so many things unanswered!!! Who was the father of Caroline and Mary Beth’s babies? What went on in their house growing up that made them that way? I need a prequel!!

Slow read

Too much back and forth in time. So predictable. I did not care for this book.

Kept me guessing!

If you're looking for a "complete" story with everything wrapped up in a nice little bow at the end, this isn't the book for you, YET! This is a great start to the series, I think some of the unanswered questions (and there are many, so fair warning) will be revealed in the next book or two, not sure how many books are anticipated. I liked the past and present storytelling from each woman's view. Hoping we don't have to wait too long to continue with Haven Cliff and its mysteries!

Riveting

Enjoyed listening to the plots and turns of all the stories and couldn’t stop until the end!

the predictable loom

I did enjoy the story and love murder mystery stories. this one felt like it had been told just slightly differently from the other ones I've read before. overall, I'd recommend this story as an easy story to track. I was just hoping for a story that would be less predictable for where it was going to land. I still had enough of a "who done it" possibility that I kept listening to find out who was actually behind the scenes. But it's good and enjoyable.

Cliffhanger

Great story but I would like to have know who the baby’s father was!!! Who killed Caroline!!
