The fairy tales .
This was so beautifully written and even though it spanded several years and 4 generations you never lost track and the fairy tales wove it all together. I couldn't put it down.

What a wonderful Saga!
Such an intricate tale that spanned decades and centuries. Stories within Stories. Kate never fails. I will have to get the hard copy. Eliza was such a giving beautiful character. All her descendants as the main characters (Nell & Cassandra) are very interesting complex characters. I will say Rose was not worthy of the love and care Eliza wasted on her. Such a great storyline in wonderful Cornwall with a secret garden. Enjoyed it all!

Gorgeous literary work!!!
This is one of the BEST books I have ever read. It’s rare I want to re-read/listen to such a long book but this one is so beautifully written with such incredible description and includes wonderfully written fairy tales that have layers of meaning. I also loved this narration or this edition.

It did surprise me
I wasn’t sure I’d make it through at first. All the jumping from year to year but once you focus and settle into it, it is a really great story.

Couldn't put it down.
Starts out with a little girl abandoned on a ship and what happens to her. Many twists and turns which follows her life, looking for where she was from and why was she abandoned on a ship. Kate Morton tops the list of my favorite authors .
